I am very disappointed, they gave us a dirty, dusty smelly room😒

I recently had the unfortunate experience of staying at your SpringHill Suites location in Uptown Charlotte, North Carolina. I am writing to express my deep disappointment and frustration with the level of service and accommodations I encountered during my stay. Upon my arrival on Saturday afternoon, I was shocked to learn that the room I had booked in advance through ******* had been sold. I had pre-paid for my room and expected a seamless check-in process, but instead, I was made to wait for at least an hour before being assigned a room. This was a frustrating start to my stay, especially after having made prior arrangements. To add to my disappointment, the room I was eventually given was not the one I had booked. I found myself in a hearing and visual disability room, which was not what I had requested or expected. Furthermore, the television in the room had no volume, rendering it practically unusable, and the refrigerator was also not functioning properly. As a loyal customer of Marriott, I have come to expect a certain standard of quality and service from your establishments. This experience was a stark departure from the usual excellence I associate with your brand. The combination of the room mix-up, the lack of functioning amenities, and the prolonged wait time significantly impacted the enjoyment of my stay and left me feeling frustrated and dissatisfied.

I enjoyed my overall stay. The room was clean overall. The view in my room was amazing. The front desk staff was very friendly. The only thing I was semi taken back by was I called to request new sheets for my King size bed but when they arrived they were twin sheets so I had to piece them together to cover the whole bed. Other than that I enjoyed my stay and will definitely be back.

Overall, the property is what it is and writing about things that cannot or will not be fixed is moot. So the location is great if what you are doing is walkable. Parking is what it is ... so just do it or rely on alternate means. The breakfast is what it is, meh. The room is what it is, looked clean. Shower was honestly the first one I've used that actually felt like a normal shower one would have at home, A-. Front check-in staff and bartender were polite, courteous, and helpful! Would I stay again, probably not ... just my preference.

Absolutely incredible stay. The service provided by all of the staff (valet, front desk, breakfast attendants, housekeeping, etc) was top notch. Being across the street from a huge music venue and in the middle of uptown was such a great location!! Leaving the music venue and walking across the street to our hotel was awesome! And they had security only letting in guests which was also amazing. Alicia at the front desk recommended a wonderful botanical garden that we enjoyed so much we went back twice!! The hot breakfast was well spread out with many options and was delicious. They even had GF muffin options!!! Overall, we were incredibly impressed with the cleanliness of the hotel and rooms, the exceptional customer service, and feeling super comfortable and safe during our visit. Would highly recommend this hotel for your Charlotte stay!!

The staff handled the situation well. However our check in time was 3:00 and at 5:30 we still did not have our room. Everyone was there for a concert and no rooms available. Nothing other than apologies we handed out. I think a portion of the room should have been comped, or something to make you want to come back again. We put our items back in the car and left to go to the concert. We didnt actually checkin and get our key until we returned from the concert. Next time hopefully they will be better prepared.

Checkin was a DISASTER!!! We arrived around 2:00 for 3PM check in. I asked the front desk if we could check in early and they said no. No problem. I was told that my room should be ready around 3PM. About 2:30 a person from the front desk came to the lobby and said for the first 5 people that were there to come up. None of us really knew who the first 5 were. I went up and waited and was told that a room was not ready for me and my family, but should be in about 20 minutes and that they would come and let me know. After 20 minutes I went back up and there was not a 2 Queen room ready still. BUT, within about 5 minutes, a person who came in AFTER me got the 1, 2 Queen room that became available. I ended up waiting until about 3:20 to get our room. This hotel needs a better system to notify people about their room. I would highly recommend that they have a process of getting customers names in a list, based on when they arrived.

We were in town for a concert & arrived after check in time. They didn’t have queen rooms available & many people were waiting in lobby for their rooms. We ended up telling them we’d take a king room so that we could get to our dinner reservation in time. Staff was friendly & apologetic. I felt for them because they were stressed & trying their best but understaffing was the issue (as with so many places). Our room was very nice & I would still stay here again.

Our stay at SpringHill Suites was wonderful. The staff was beyond helpful and friendly. The drinks and food at the bar in the hotel were delicious. Just a short trip across the street to the spectrum center. Only issues we had were with the condition of a few things when we got to our room for the first time. A shelf under the counter in the bathroom was completely destroyed and splintered. The sink in the bathroom was leaking and the cabinet enclosure was slightly moldy and had water damage.
