Our hotel stay was nothing less than perfect. From the second you arrive outside and are struck by the stunning architecture, the beautiful interiors, the beautiful smell and ambience when you enter the reception but all these details are overshadowed by the welcoming, kind, friendly, open faces of the staff here to greet you and the overwhelming feeling of home and luxury. If you’re looking to come to Crete please look no further than Domus Blanc in Chania. It’s location is perfect, a 20-30 minute walk alongside the seafront down to the harbour with stunning restaurants all overlooking the incredible scenery and beautiful ocean views, you then come into the Venetian port/harbour, right on Chania old town where there are ample wonderful places to eat and drink along with beautiful cobbled streets filled with plenty of quaint shops to stroll around for hours. But back to the BEAUTIFUL hotel. The staff couldn’t have been more kind, making our stay feel so personal and like they really cared for us as guests, so attentive, so open, warm, kind and helpful. The food was exquisite, particularly the breakfast - this was like something I have never experienced. They started every morning with a three tiered breakfast starter with delightful and delicious, homemade treats - all divine. Then you could choose from there menu for your ‘main course’ we tried them all and they were all completely perfect. We stayed in the Gabriel suite with its own little veranda with 2 chairs, a table, lush, large outdoor bed/lounger and jacuzzi/dipping pool - our bed was very large, plump and super comfortable, plus the room had “mood lighting” and smart technology so you could just click a button for “blackout” for example and the blinds would come down, lights go off! Every tiny detail has been thoroughly thought through with their guests comfort, ease, enjoyment and luxury being the priority. There ‘Main Pool’ area was also delightful - as this is a boutique hotel the pool is not too big but plenty big enough to have a lovely swim in with jets in the pool too. The pool is often quiet and never chaotic or crammed - just peaceful and beautiful. Surrounded by plants and classical music - truly a blissful place to spend a day reading a book, laying in the sun and having a swim. The staff were also incredibly helpful when it came to ‘tailor made’ recommendations for each guest for where to go, what to see and always on hand to help guide you round beautiful Chania. We would like to give a special mention to Ioanna who could not have made us feel more welcome and our stay more magical and special. We came to Domus Blanc as a little “get away” for a week just before we got married and our experience here is something we will truly treasure forever. Everything was perfect. Could not recommend enough
