Prior to its transformation into boutique hotel, this was a drinking haunt for university students. The extensive craft beer list honours this history and we enjoyed exploring by both beer and wines by the glass, with their knowledgeable soms. Tariff is high, rooms are compact, but the service is excellent - feels like a handcrafted, personable experience centered around a comfortable rest and great food in the heart of Old town Ljubljana.

We loved everything about this hotel except our room (25) was very noisy because of the hotel restaurant's loud and mostly electronic music. Ww couldn't use our balcony and had to keep all windows and doors shut to muffle the vibration and sound! We had to ask repeatefly for it to be turned down - and even then it wasn't enough for us to enjoy our stay. A lot iof money spent and very disappointing!

There really needs to be a Tripadvisor category for 5+ hotels, with some way of limiting how freely people could award such recognition - for example, allowing people to identify a hotel as being among the top 5 or 10 they have ever visited. Zlata Ladjica would fit into that group for us. The hotel itself is beautiful and in excellent condition, with tasteful decor and colors and an thoughtful combination of the building's old heritage with modern design. We had the experience of two different rooms during our stay, both of which were very well decorated and designed - in fact, each room is unique not only in its shape but in its decor. The bathrooms were creatively designed and the furniture was well chosen. Yet the real standout of the hotel is its team. From top to bottom, front desk to restaurant, the staff were fantastic - not mere employees but rather well-educated team members who shared the responsibilities for seeing that each guest's needs were addressed. The bar/restaurant staff was particularly impressive, but then again so was the front desk staff, and even the cleaning ladies were full of smiles. The food must be mentioned as well. Breakfast might as well count as lunch as it was oh so large. On the first morning, you are treated to a standard plate with local traditions, which alone would satisfy most hungry diners, but you then also are asked to select from the list of egg and other mains - all delicious but belt-busting. After the first day, you have different themed breakfast options (mermaid, fitness, etc.), which didn't reduce the food quantity but does provide some variety when compared to the traditional European hotel breakfast buffet. We also enjoyed dinner in the restaurant one night and were very pleased with the quality of the food. And, oh yes, the service was excellent. In other words, a 5+ hotel experience!

Tivemos uma experiência maravilhosa no hotel! Atendimento super simpático e prestativo. Staff sempre atento para que os hóspedes tenham a melhor experiência possível na cidade e no hotel. O restaurante do hotel também é maravilhoso. Comida e atendimento nota 10. O quarto é muito confortável, bem mantido e tudo funciona perfeitamente. Sem dúvida se voltar a Ljubiana, me hospedarei novamente no Zlata Ladjica

Mitten in der Altstadt von Juliana liegt dieses zauberhafte Boutique Hotel. Das Hotel liegt mitten am Fluss mit Blick auf das Schloss in einem alten Haus aus dem 16. Jahrhundert, dass von den Besitzern mit großem Aufwand liebevoll und technisch hochmodern restauriert wurde. Die Begrüßung war perfekt, unbedingt den Valetparking Service benutzen, dann ist die Anreise vollkommen unkompliziert und man wird durch die verkehrsberuhigte Altstadt gelotst, denn vors Hotel kann man mit dem Auto nicht fahren, das macht aber gar nichts, das Personal parkt das Auto und bringt es einem bei der Abreise oder jeder Zeit, wann man es benötigt wieder. wir waren schon etwas spät dran, wurden aber höchst zuvorkommend in Empfang genommen, bekamen ein paar feuchte Handtücher zum Hände erfrischen und auf unsere Frage, ob wir vor dem Abendessen noch kurz in die Sauna gehen könnten, wurde uns der private Spa für zwei Personen reserviert und der Begrüßungscocktail dort serviert! Es folgte ein wunderbares Abendessen auf dem Vorplatz vor dem Hotel, der Service war perfekt und aufmerksam, man brachte uns ungefragt Mückenspray und beriet uns treffend zu den lokalen Schaumwein- und Weinspezialitäten. Dieses Hotel gehört sicher zu den besten in Ljubljana und das mit Recht, seine Lage ist für einen Städtetrip mehr als perfekt, ich hoffe wir kommen irgendwann wieder, dann sehr gerne wieder ins Zlata Ladjica!
