Llahuar Lodge

Die Lage ist herrlich, die Thermalbäder warm und sehr entspannend nach der tollen Wanderung von Cabanaconde, der Weg ist auch ohne Guide leicht zu finden, die Hosts sind außerordentlich herzlich und geben sehr gute Tipps für die weitere Tour.

Después de una larga caminata desde Cabanaconde, la gran sorpresa ! El comedor dominando el rio Colca, las cabañas bien equipadas y muy cerca de los baños termales, que son una delicia. La velada se transcurre en un ambiente de conviavilidad y con jóvenes de todas las nacionalidades. Para nosotros lo mas interesante fue conocer la historia de como construyeron todo esto los propietarios de sus propios manos. Martine y Oscar

MEDIOCRE!!! Chambres avec fuites d'eau, draps humides (s'il y en a), bassins s'apparentant plutôt à la cloaca maxima qu'à des thermes naturels..... Talents culinaires défaillants entrainant des troubles gastriques (fruits pourries) ainsi qu'un trou dans le portefeuille..... Le service laisse à désirer.... Je conseille vivement l'enseigne voisine magnifiquement fleuri et un service exceptionnel !!!!!

We visites the llahuar lodge with a group of 6. Therefore, we booked three cabins. The cabins have exactly everything you need (a bed to sleep in after a long hike). The toilet and showers are available in separate central cabins (the hot water worked well). The hotsprings next to the river are very nice and lastly, the host Roberto is very nice. Conclusion: had a lovely stay for one night.

The llahuar lodge is one of the best hostel lodges I’ve ever stayed at. It’s a long hike to get there but it’s so worth it for the tranquil and natural hot springs at the base of the canyon. The food provided at the restaurant is tasty and reasonable. Both the room and the common area were very clean. The family running the place is incredibly warm and kind, the best Peru has to offer. Try to take a dip after dark to enjoy the Andean night sky, shooting stars, and the Milky Way above. Would definitely stay again and recommend to anyone looking to relax and enjoy the canyon.

On entering the dirty , dusty floored reception/ dining room/ bar you pass by the filthy kitchen. We ate tasty fried egg & chips & worked hard to ignore the kitchen they had come from. The dining room is veranda style & open to the air. Lovely view of river but bare wires & bare bulbs ( filthy & fly encrusted) hanging from ceiling in dirty, uncared for & unloved dining room/ reception/ bar. The whole place including bedroom & bathroom needs a deep clean & then regular cleaning to maintain an acceptable basic standard of cleanliness & hygiene. The bed linen was clean but the walls & floor of the wooden bedroom cabin had many dead insects on them. The toilet & wash basin were clean but the shower had dead insects in the shower tray & the shower head was filthy. The cabins were in lovely grassy river location with table, chairs & flowers outside cabin. This good attention to detail needs to extend to interior bedrooms, bathrooms & dining room. As we checked out the hotelier was watching football on TV in hotel entrance. His time should have been used cleaning.Even when paying budget price a basic level of cleanliness & hygiene are expected & required.
