Big room where we could spread out was nice and clean with a patio for our small dogs. Great location with easy underground parking garage so you can walk everywhere. I would stay here again.

Property very nice but needs a microwave, bigger tv for the size of the room in my opinion. Needs AC if you come in the summer I’m sure it can be hot in the room. But room was very clean and cozy and great location.

I love this hotel. Great location and very comfortable. The fireplaces in the room are a dream when it is chilly outside! We will be back.

So we showed up at 9:25pm and although the office is supposed to be open till 10pm, the receptionist had already left for the night. There was a guest already there that had been waiting about ten minutes, making calls to the manager to get them to come out. I waited with them another 15 minutes before the receptionist turned back up, handed me an envelope and said my key was under the mat at my room. No text, call or email to give me those instructions ahead of time. It just came across as incredibly incompetent. That experience aside, I would say the only thing going for this place is the location. Right in the heart of Carmel-by-the-Sea. Just a few blocks from the ocean and surrounded by art and food. The room, however, is in major need of new mattresses. Those were the hardest beds I have ever slept on and I can’t even say they are better than the floor. I put the pillows on the bed under me so that I could sleep and still woke up feeling like my ribs were bruised. It was awful! If my stay had been any longer, I would have switched hotels. Minor issues were the lack of water pressure in the shower, the old, scratchy toilet seat, the shower fan that flickers on and off, the lack of A/C in the room, and the lack of screens on the windows to keep out bugs when you’re just trying to get some fresh air. Would I recommend this place? NO!!! There are nicer, less expensive places in Pacific Grove and Seaside. Location doesn’t excuse quality… or the need for restful sleep.

Spacious room, good bed. Made dinner reservations for us and on whole a convenient and reasonably priced lodging option for Carmel.

Basically the location is stellar but the hotel is worn down and tired. They put in small print that you have to opt in for maid service. That’s a first for me. The old florescent bathroom light worked intermittently, lights were burnt out and the bed is lumpy. Staff was nice but acknowledged that the owner was cheap and not interested in making the necessary improvements. I could go on and on but for $300/night, this place is a joke.

Stay was below my expectations. Second story floor was squeaky, Carpet was not vacuumed, No AC, Elevator was small. Bathroom tiles were dirty. No water drinking glass in the room (you have to request). I rate 2 star hotel.

If time travel to the 80s is your jam this is your spot. This spot is in desperate need of a refurbishment. The bathrooms are broken. The furniture is beat up and worn. Less it’s location - stay anywhere else unless you’re into vintage amenities and lackluster comfort.

We were very disappointed in this property. I booked it based on location and positive reviews. The location was good but the room was very shabby - the furniture, the linens, the towels, the carpet. The bathroom needs a major update (the bathtub floor was quite slippery and there was nothing to hold on to). The sink had what appeared to be mold where the mirror met the "backsplash". It was billed as a "city view" but basically we could see across the street. I will not stay here again and do not recommend it.
