拉普拉雅飯店(La Playa Hotel)

LaPlaya Hotel is wonderful. Beautiful grounds, friendly and helpful staff. Fantastic breakfast including made to order omelets and waffles. Bar onsite and a fabulous view on the terrace. This is an absolutely lovely place. Excellent location...Close to the beach and close to downtown. Complimentary shuttle service and fresh baked chocolate chip cookies in the evening. I think I found my favorite place to stay in lovely Carmel.

We just finished a three night stay here and absolutely ADORED this place. Perfect location, hotel was small and quaint, the grounds were dreamy. My husband loved the historic photos throughout and that it was “old” but made new. The front desk even upgraded our room for no additional cost upon check-in. I was so impressed with the breakfast - especially the made on demand waffles. Mimosas were a great touch as well. I am already planning a trip back and won’t stay anywhere else in Carmel-By-The-Sea.

We enjoyed the quaint and boutique vibe of the hotel, and the location couldn’t be better. Unbelievable breakfast each morning, and super accommodating staff. We had an ocean view room and the full bar set up in the room was a nice touch. We will definitely be back!

This hotel is perfection! From the location to the amenities, decor and staff. The breakfast “spread” is one of the best we’ve ever had in all of our travels. The views are breathtaking and it’s just a short walk to the beach and into town. Highly recommend!

It's not that this is a bad place, but it definitely does not meet our expectation given the price we paid. The hotel is under active rennovation, yet no one warned us of that. The breakfast, which had great reviews, was at best average. The room was tiny, the bathroom also tiny, with one little sink and not enough room for two people. We will stay somewhere else next time.

I will start with the good things. La Playa is very well located a short walk from the beach and restaurants in the Village. The view from our room was outstanding. I was also pleasantly surprised by the breakfast in the hotel. The staff were all professional and willing to please. Now the bad things - we stayed in late April and the hotel was under construction and they didn't tell us about it until we showed up. Our stay was for a special occasion and we wouldn't have selected the hotel if we knew about the construction which was extensive. Management made the decision not to inform guests at the time of booking, which is pretty rude in my opinion. The onsite team did offer a discount but if we had full knowledge ahead of time we would not have chosen to stay there. There are many nice hotels in Carmel there is no reason to put up with the noise and mess of a major construction project.

Our room was on the lobby level and we could hear other guests yelling and laughing in the lobby late at night. The front desk should have notified those guests to keep it down since there are guest rooms on the lobby level. The building needs to improve its soundproofing.
