We had 2 apartments which were both excellent. We arrived mid morning and they really helped us out with an early check in. The position is perfect, only a few minutes walk to everything. Apartments are very spacious and clean. Franschhoek is a beautiful place to visit, we felt very safe, and I would highly recommend staying here.
We had a wonderful stay at this very beautiful Wine Farm. We stayed in one of the cottages near to the lake which was well presented, clean and all the facilities you require. Breakfast was plentiful and the catering staff were most helpful. There are also many excellent restaurants in this area of Stellenbosch and when we revist again we will definitely be staying at Webersburg.
Our stay at this hotel was fantastic! The staff were incredibly accommodating, allowing us a late checkout and understanding our delay, which made a great impression. The room was spacious and offered a breathtaking view of the winery, complete with a wonderful sunset that added to the charm. Breakfast was delicious, and the friendly staff made us feel truly welcome. Being close to downtown was a big plus for convenience, and we were touched to receive a bottle of wine as a welcome perk. It’s just a shame we didn’t have time to enjoy the wine tasting, but we’d love to return and experience it next time. Highly recommended!
DDaydream54693627409Way too noisy to make for a pleasant stay There were four of us in 2 separate rooms - we all had a terrible night's (rather lack of) sleep. A shame, because it's an attractive building inside & out; really clean; in a great location and (ironically) really comfy beds and lovely pillows and linen. But it is simply way too noisy to be viable as somewhere charging people to sleep. We arrived to the sound of construction noise - in fairness we had been pre-warned about renovations and makes sense to do such work out of season, but maybe not late on a Saturday afternoon. We were all woken up at 3.00 AM by screaming female voices. I assume guests after a good night out and get you can't control your guests' behaviour - but the screaming continued for half an hour, during which time hotel staff should have stepped in to tell them to show some respect to other guests and shut up. Then we were woken again by blaring music just after 6.00 AM. On phoning reception to point this out, we were told they know and it's the staff in the restaurant, who like to play music. It's terrible that it took guests to tell the hotel to tell their staff not to play blaring music at six in the morning. Some of the noise that blighted our stay was out of the hotel's control - but this was totally on them. Quite simply, the hotel staff wanted to listen to blaring music at six in the morning, without any care at all for paying guests, trying to sleep. This is inexcusable and shows utter contempt towards paying guests. The doors need better sound dampers and/or people who care about closing them as silently as possible - most of the slamming doors were early morning, so again I suspect staff not caring at all about the guest experience. And dogs constantly barking from very early morning, in between being woken by screaming and woken by music. This noise absolutely not in the hotel's control - but just added to the general cacophony and resulting sleep deprivation. In summary then not a hotel to book if you want a night's sleep, which is why you book a hotel. Mentioned to reception on check out, but got the sense they didn't care, as money already banked. And that's the really bad/sad part of this. A shame - could be lovely with a bit of consideration, care and a few adaptations.
We recently stayed at Grande Villa. We truly loved the experience and felt very welcomed by Claudia. She went out of her way to make sure we were looked after and even gave us an upgrade. The Villa is perfectly located.....in a quiet part of town but only a few minutes walk into some ”action”. The roof terrace is just so special and I enjoyed a sundowner with the stillness of autumn. No fuss and very minamilast - perfect for a night's getaway!
TTanviThe whole experience at Aquila was unreal. Our check-in experience was very smooth even though we were very late and had to immediately go for our sunset safari. The buffet spreads across all meals was great overall! Staff was very friendly. The rooms were extremely spacious, clean and had great views. We were on Level 1, so we had access to a huge patio which opened up to the serene beauty of the mountains.
Newer again!!!! Not a Marriott Standard at all! This hotel was a very bad experience. I can not see why the hotel was described as ”modern”?! Nearly Everthing is old and they are so many parts that smells bad. We trusted the Marriott brand, but were extremely dissapointed. At reception it smelled but I couldn´t identify it.. Everything is dark furnished and not really friendly. The room we had was C07. Nice size and view. But this was it! The bath tub which was supposed to be white was rather reddish/brown, never would have used it- the sink of the washing table was brown/black. The shower smelled badly, I only entered it with bath shoes and tried not to touch anything- When we arrived the corridor was not cleaned, feathers of any not identified birds, and some old used tisues. In the wardrobe as well, there was garbage from the guest before ? When we walked through the corridor we saw other rooms which were about to be cleaned and we saw the old matresses, without the cover. They were dark yellow/brown. I didn´t want to think of how old this mattresses were :(( disgusting. We wanted to use the pool - the good thing: it is really big. But when you want to go, you need to ask for pool towels, why they are not in the room from the beginning, no idea- So we had to organizw the towels. They were in the size of hand towels?! I was not able to use for my whole body. Why is this named a pool towel ? There are some old plastic sun chairs around the pool - Obviously with no covers. So we tried to use the ”pool towel” but I could only sit on it, it was too small to lean down on the sun chair.... So not really a nice ”Wellness Eperience” to sit on the plastic chair on a small towel. The water seemed to be clean and it was nice to swim. But if you use swimming goggles you see things on the floor which you do not want to see. All dirty. You need a pool cleaning machine to get this brown this off the bottom. But apparently this is not used here. The side of the pool is old and the there were broken Tiles outside, when you try to get out. I had to take care not to hurt myself. One evening we came back late from dinner and were told the the ceilling from our room came down. Apparently a water problem. I saw the whole and took a foto! I couldn´t believe it!!!! Luckily we were not there, and good luck that it happened at night. BUT the hotel was not able to inform us during the whole day. So we had to pack our staff at 22:00 tiered as we were and got moved to another room- this was named executive. (nr 104) The room has a nice view and it seemed to have new furniture - but I was wandering where the bad small of the toilet came from??! We did not find out. There was not a possibility to open the big window. Only a verry little part of it. (a very small window flap) and this didn´t help. In the middle of the room was a little bath tub (new- yippi!!!) but when we wanted to use it, the water was only coming out a bit more than water drops. And there
