Just when you've think you've seen it all....you arrive at @granddedale.... Versailles on steroides....absolutely, incomparable spectacular! The attention to detail is BEYOND....everything is a Piece de Resistánce!

One of the best places I have ever stayed in. Ultimate luxury, huge room and stunning bathroom. We had the place to ourselves. Champagne and canapés by the fire, personal dinner served to us. Chef enquired about my food intolerance on arrival. The dinner and breakfast were both excellent. Charming staff. Everything was perfect.

We enjoyed a lovely night at Grand Dedale. Tina and her staff were very friendly, food was delicious and the quality of the room and general experience was very good. It is situated a beautiful farm outside Wellington. We also enjoyed wine tasting at the farm cellar as well as the spa.

A thoughtfully designed space in a very tranquil setting with excellent service. It is old style coiuntry luxury and one is attended to at ones own pace though the venue was not full when we stayed. My only comment is with the lush gardens surroudning there is no need for fake flower arrangements which abound and lower the tone

Last minute booking in this beautiful property located in nice surroundings. The waiters were very friendly and really looking for ways to help you. What could have been a great stay was (besides the staff) unfortunately poor: - bath suffered water leaks which made it unusable. The on duty manager was not very accommodating nor apologetic or trying to make up for it in any ways. - The food was alright, nothing mind blowing but of good quality. Set time for the service and waiting for every table to be seated to start serving is convenient for the kitchen but we found bit stiff. - the main problem was the room: the soundproofing is non existent. Our room was located by the main entrance and the window was right on the veranda where the meals are served. You can hear every dining guest conversation as well as the staff cleaning up late and setting up breakfast early. There is a double door facing the bed that is the only thing separating you from the main entrance, you can see the light around the door and hear everything. Made the room feel like an afterthought. Basic soundproofing is needed.

Nothing below ***** The Grand Dédale Country House is located at the end of the Bovlei/Kromrivier valley. The beautiful solid old building renovated 15 years ago, has been kept up to the highest standards since. Very high quality in all respects. A highly efficient, qualified and friendly staff providing Service (with a capital), without any notion of subservience. Too bad we did not discover this gem at the Doolhof Wine Estate any earlier. Otherwise, it would have been a firm choice also at many of our past visits to South Africa. The road to the Grand Dédale Country House is under construction and will provide improved access. But even any delay on the way is easily forgotten upon arrival. Thank you, Tina (and Angelo) and all your loyal staff members, for all your good and kind work.

We had a wonderful stay at Grand Dedale. The house is beautifully maintained with original features, and the swimming pool area is extremely relaxing. The three course dinners provided each evening were exquisite. There are a variety of walks nearby along the river, in addition to wine tasting just next door at Doolhof! Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.
