We have just arrived back into the UK after an amazing holiday in South Africa We were lucky enough to experience both the St James Manor House and Homestead Villa the following week for our family Birthday Party Both are owned by the Rovos Rail Group Clive, Dene and all the staff looking after both properties, went out of their way to give us a wonderful time in both places The guest house is lovely, small but so personal. The breakfast was wonderful and they even had an honesty bar where you can socialise and chat to other guests The Villa was absolutely fabulous although I feel the website photos don't do it the justice it deserves. Each of the six bedrooms are massive suites with a huge living space, spectacular beds and bathrooms The living spaces are on the ground floor looking out to sea and the upper level also with a balcony and a sea view We actually spotted a couple of dolphins whilst sitting on the spacious terrace We used the pool and rear outside spaces when it was good weather Everyone had special memories to take home We would highly recommend the Villa for a larger group We had the best time in both accommodations Thank you all xx

St James Manor is a lovely location. As with any place in South Africa, please be vigilant. Unfortunately a significant amount of cash was stolen from our room during our stay. The hotel was assiduous in following up and there is no evidence that hotel staff were involved. Please do follow up immediately on site if you find your room unlocked.

A Gem of a Small Hotel! My husband and I spent 6 delightful nights at The St James Manor Guest House over the New Year …. We loved every moment of our stay and cannot wait to return . The Manor House is beautifully furnished with antiques and the understated service is perfect - ones every need is quietly catered for ! The large suites are exquisite and the peace and quiet of the setting between the mountain and the sea is perfect ! Dene and her small team are unobtrusively present for your every need We shall hopefully be back very soon

Looking back on my stay here I was really impressed by the 5 star ambiance of this beautiful Manor house. Quiet and tranquil with great furnishings and amazing breakfast. The staff are so welcoming and friendly, all managed by Dene who is running a tight ship. Thank you for making our holiday amazing we look forward to the next visit

We just left St James Manor and absolutely loved our stay. We enjoyed our spacious and luxurious stately room. We’d like to specifically mention Goodnews and Clive for their fabulous service with a smile! St James Manor is conveniently situated on the Main road going through St James and Muizenberg, making it easy to walk everywhere. We would definitely come back!

A time I will always remember in one of the world’s most beautiful spaces. The Manor is a grand old dame, jealously guarding the treasures of gentility and comfort so often absent from our modern world. The location is wonderful with easy walking access to tidal pools, Muizenburg beach, the gorgeous village of Kalk Bay, wonderful cafes and eateries and many other adventures just a short drive away. The Manor herself provides a quiet and beautiful haven to rest in and retire to. Go soon and stay awhile……..
