This property is gorgeous -- so tastefully put together, with lovely views at every turn. The rooms were lovely. The amenities thoughful. The pool was glorious, and the dining exceptional. The pups on site are a wonderful addition -- especially if you're missing your own at home. Note -- while we were unable to book the Wine Barrel Rooms, they look so fun!

Spacious room overlooking the Douro River. No air conditioning the night we stayed because they said it was cold and raining and only the heat is available. The receptionist at check in was not very friendly or accommodating. She acted like it was a lot of trouble for her to arrange a wine tasting tour for us. The restaurant was deafening loud during dinner because there were a couple of tour groups. I would not recommend shrimp risotto.
