Firstly, when we arrived no one was there (although we were asked before by phone to send a message or call shortly before we arrive - and that is what we did). I called and didn't get an answer, I asked at the fish shop with the same name the told us to go round the corner to check if someone is there and otherwise come back. We did so. No one opened. It was cold we had two suit cases and didn't feel welcome at all. We were told afterwards that there was another guests arriving at the same time. I would still have appreciated if someone would have informed us about that and not let us wait in the cold. Secondly, we were not able to get dinner, although it was mentioned that you offer food. Again, it would have been nice to know beforehand that it would be difficult to get dinner. (we had peantus at the end). Thirdly, after a night without dinner, we didn't get proper breakfast. We were told that bread and pastries would get delivered to the door (breakfast is in the room), but this never arrived (although I complaint several times - no solution). We waited for more than an hour before we finally left (payment was in advance). After no dinner at night, not having a proper breakfast (the cheese and salmon without bread wasn't neither good nor filling), we were really disappointed. I asked for at least a small refund, but although promised, I didn't receive anything back. We had a most wonderful stay in Ireland, but this experience was really sad.

Tout était bien, MAIS, quand nous partions après avoir payé, personne ne dit au revoir et merci. Nous avons payé et pour eux service terminé...alors que la propriétaire était assise à la table à côté.... J'ai l habitude de plus d attention en France

We booked a reservation at this hotel with ********** two months advance and pre-paid the full amount. We were “guaranteed“ a room. When we arrived at the hotel mid afternoon on the first day of our reservation we were told they had no record of a reservation. They called ********** but did not get an answer I tried calling ********** and could not get through as well and try to chat line with no response. They arranged for an alternate hotel in Waterville a 20 min drive away. That worked out and we spent two days there. However the room rate was $230 lower than what I had paid for so I requested a refund in that amount from Quinlan and Cooke. They collected $640 from me and they paid the alternate hotel $410, and pocketed the difference. It appears to be a scam as they appear to have had this prearranged. I strongly recommend staying away from this property!!!

Kate is a fabulous host. Her net & greet was warm and reflected a very comfortable stay. The accommodation is clean, stylish and was exactly what we needed for our two night stay with a very peaceful night's sleep. The breakfast was scrumptious and more that enough. Kate also made provisions for my coeliac dietary requirements. Unfortunately, the restaurant wasn't open but, I would definitely recommend QC's to friends and family & look forward to staying there again myself. Well done Kate

The room was huge, minimalist, beautifully furnished and very comfortable. With a large bathroom and shower unit, and a walk-in place to hang clothes, it was an easy space to manage. Good coffee, and they cater for breakfast in your room! In the morning, fresh pastries were hanging in a bag outside door. To go with them, a fridge with fruit compote, smoked salmon and Brie. Muesli. Fresh milk. This accommodation caters to the smallest detail.

I had a 1 night stay here on a work trip. My room turned out to be lovely: large, bright and warm. The bed was big and comfortable with lovely crisp linen. I ended up eating in the restaurant later that evening. The mussels I ordered were divine: a plentiful portion of plump molluscs in a gorgeous sauce. The young team working there were professional and friendly with all the diners, As the hotel had advised, breakfast was served in the bedroom, with pastries delivered to my door next morning. There was also an array of fruit and cereals and a Nespresso machine in the room. I left well rested and with my appetite well sated. The only blip was the check-in process. Before I arrived I received what seemed like a deluge of emails about directions and check in options, none particularly clear. One of them told me I was in the Yellow room, another directed me to a website which told me I was in Blue. Confused, on arrived I ended up at the bar counter where a friendly staff member sorted me out.

Warm welcome and friendly staff. Room spacious and very well equipped. Had dinner in the restaurant which was generous and enjoyable. Breakfast in the morning was a great experience with the pastries delivered to our room. We enjoyed our stay and would thoroughly recommend

Every service went above and beyond. The suite was beautiful, the grounds were open air with many sitting areas, the knowledge of the area from the staff was very helpfuland the food was wonderful. Most important was their willingness to help us with all our needs. Awesome place and will be going back

Wonderful stay at Quinlan & Cooke this week. Arriving in Cahersiveen it is a real highlight on the lovely high street. We we warmly checked into our fabulous room the Skellig suite - massive bedroom/living space with all the amenities you need. We had drinks in the bar downstairs before dinner in the lively buzzy restaurant. I had beautiful butternut squash soup and the best fish and chips! Breakfast is served in your room as in - in the fridge is delicious yoghurt, smoked salmon cheese and granola - all Q&C labelled and accompanied by fresh pastries which are delivered in the morning. It was all perfect. Had a lovely chat with Kate on our way out - we were sorry to leave. Highly recommend!
