Cute room! Staff were super friendly and helpful. Great food next door. Couldn't enjoy some of the amenities since the place was renovating. Not the best showers around, but overall worth the price!

My wife and I agreed this was probably our favorite hostel in all of Oz (Outback and East Coast). Its a bit expensive but worth it. It’s not in the heart of town, but we preferred the location which has a nice cafe/restaurant directly next door and beach is literally across the street. Could see the water from our private room above reception. Staff could not be friendlier and more helpful, shout out to Argentina, happy for their futbol win! There’s a shuttle that takes you to town every hour, but after a few margaritas it’s a pleasant 20 min walk back even at night. Bathroom and shower was nice, kitchen nice, and wifi was strong. Our only mistake was only staying one night during our east coast tour. Byron is worth as many nights as you can afford.

First the bad news: overpriced private rooms with none of the assumed basics and amenities for a room of this price. One tiny bar of soap which needs to last the duration of your stay and split between the bathroom and shower. (I cut mine in half). There are definitely cutbacks in toiletries. (An extra shampoo would have been great - I was rationing this like the soap) Whoever is sourcing the hostel supplies needs to upgrade his vendor list - saving a few pennies on these essentials almost always kills repeat business. Housekeeping is hit and miss. I finally gave up getting a towel replaced after many days. Did not come on all days. (It’s a hostel) The Hostel really is out of town. It’s not really walkable. The shuttle is handy but don’t expect it to depart on a strict timetable. The restaurant is cool and well designed but pricey, menu fairly static and is your only food source this far out of town. Please drop the ridiculous default tipping menu when you order digitally- that I can assure you turns customers off very quickly. The good: great bed, room and bathroom totally adequate for a hostel. AC great. The staff are friendly. Facilities are as you expect for a hostel - actually a high quality hostel. I just hate when you pay hotel prices for a private room and no effort is made to elevate the experience beyond the normal standard hostel conditions.

Basic rooms, no curtains and one small mirror. Bathrooms can be dirty. We complained of a man we felt uncomfortable with in our room after a horrible incident and they did nothing about it. Really disappointing as a female traveller. Shuttle bus is handy, pool area is nice.
