Travelodge Hotel - Burton A38 Southbound

Entrance not well lit at night, considering it is off such a busy road, noise from the road made it difficult to sleep, room felt a bit grubby and washed out.

Lauren on reception was great! Really friendly and super helpful. Gave me instructions on how to get petrol and food etc. thank you!! However, the instructions on the website to find this location are wrong, so it took me around half an hour to get there. I went to the northbound to begin with, then they gave me another postcode which went to a quarry! Really frustrating. The room smelt musty and there was clearly mould present!

Big shout out to David and Emma. After breaking down on the A38 with my disabled mum and being left standing in a cold layby for three hours, we were dropped at the Travel Lodge to wait in the warmth for our car to be picked up. David and Emma were on duty and ensured we were able to use the loo and get warm. They were kind and supportive throughout. Our spirits were very much lifted and both were patient listening to our story. David provided phone chargers for us after we'd depleted our batteries. When there was continual failure by our rescue company regarding them sending three taxis to the wrong Travel Lodge, David very kindly spoke to the taxi company, redirecting the car to the correct location. He got us safely into the taxi for our journey home, eight hours after our car failure. We cannot thank both staff members enough, they are a massive credit to the company and I really hope they can be acknowledged for this further by senior management. Renewed faith in humanity restored on that cold February night. Beth and Pauline.

Kind experienced friendly staff. Lauren helped me with my booking by making sure i had a downstairs room and emma checked me in giving is a room with a large bathroom. Would recommend this lodge as its quiet. Downfall is could do with the board lighting up and its a fast road. Nice chip shop and off licence in barton and carvery in nearby burton. Staying again next weekend

Checked in at this hotel earlier today. Not much to say but the room and bath room was clean and smelled fresh, it easy enough to find the hotel with google maps and the receptionist, Luke was very polite. I would stay here again, especially how it’s affordable with great service.

You pretty much know what you're going to get with Travelodge - accomodation that just about suffices as a low cost, clean, safe, bed for the night with minor niggles and nothing remotely luxurious.This one just about fitted the brief.
