simple, quiet, affordable Thunderbird Resort is a family run operation. It is reasonably priced with no frills, but exceptionally clean and quiet. Full kitchen with utensils, but no condiments or coffee. An on-site convenience store, kayak rentals (it is on an inlet of Lake Buchanan). Everything closes down at 4pm however. Signage for entrance road off hwy 2431 could be better.

Hard to find property, Poor condition of roads within the property. Cabins were clean but you had to do your dishes if you used any and take out your trash at the end of stay. Minimal amenities such as towels, tissues. Had coffee maker but you had to bring all of your supplies and coffee. In General the place was rustic. Calling it a resort is a real stretch.

No concept of customer service Though the sheets were clean and the room appeared to be renovated the room had an old, musty smell. My wife’s asthma flared up within a couple of hours of being in the room. She couldn’t stay in the room at all and slept in the car that night. When we decided to leave the next day, one night early (paid in advance for two nights), resort staff would not return any of our money from the second night (we would have been glad to receive 50% back) and told my wife it wasn’t possible her asthma flared up because of something related to the room. We stayed somewhere else the next night and she was fine so it was most definitely the room. I wouldn’t stay there again.

Clean and welcoming Great studio for a couple with everything you need for a stay including a full size fridge and stove. Very clean!

Due to storming there was flooding. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate us and our students. It was so clean and peaceful! We were enjoyed our entire weekend!

Family Stay The Thundebird Resort was in a very nice area. There were a few things that didn’t work well. The refrigerator light didn't work. The television didn't work and Wally (tv viewing service was really bad). The personnel really tried to help but to no avail. And the Thundebird Resort websote should state phone calls cannot be made except for emergencies (911). Perhaps it does and I missed it.
