My daughter Zoe says freaking wonderful - 100%!! I couldn't agree more. Our rooms were clean and kept! The food was amazing and fresh every day, the river made us feel very clean and refreshed. This was a wonderful experience! The staff couldn't be more accommodating and Mike was a fantastic Host!

Such a beautiful property! We saw howler monkeys, spider monkeys (I think, it was not a howler that’s all I know lol) fire beetles glowing in the palm trees, agouti’s, roadrunners, Toucans, all on the property. My kids had so much fun playing in the river and the rope swing. They would have been content not seeing anything else in San Ignacio and just staying there all day. The breakfast and dinners were very good and convenient. It felt like we had a private resort all to ourselves. Mike who lives on sight is a wonderful person also and was great having him around to hear some of his stories and knowledge of the area. Everyone that worked there were absolutely great. If I come back to this area I would absolutely be staying here again.

Cohune Palms really has a lot going for it. The property is truly beautiful , nestled in the middle of the jungle, with access to the river and animals roaming during the day. The staff is kind and helpful, but while the rooms have potential, they really are not well kept. Forget about mosquitoes, we found many cockroaches in the bathroom, big unknown stains on the bed sheets, and dust all over the room. I really wanted to enjoy this place and all it had to offer, but unfortunately, the lack of attention to the living areas really prevented me from doing so. They market themselves as a resort, but in reality it is equivalent to camping. For this price point, save yourself some stress and find a property with more well kept rooms.

We had a wonderful stay at Cohune Palms with our kids aged 7 &10. It’s definitely more of a ‘no frills’ place but don’t let that put you off! It’s so tranquil and charming and the staff are wonderful. Camille cooked some wonderful local dishes for us and it was the best food we had on our whole stay. Mario helped us to organise a river tubing trip which ended right at the dock of the cabanas and was great fun. We loved the laid back vibe of the place and even spent one entire day not leaving the property and just reading in the hammocks. We spotted agoutis, howler monkeys, hummingbirds, toucans and an jaguarundi on the property. It’s a short taxi ride into town but the staff were great at helping us organise this.

So glad we chose Cohune Cabanas for our stay in San Ignacio. It's close enough to town that you can run in and out a few times a day, but also feels like you're deep in the jungle once you're there - complete with howler monkeys and the river right out front to explore. We really enjoyed taking tubes and floating down the river. The staff was very helpful with recommendations. Would love to stay there again!

We absolutely LOVED our stay here! It was so calm and peaceful. The staff are wonderful and will go out of their way to help you with anything you need. It's definitely more at the 'rustic' end of the scale but we really enjoyed that aspect. The river is wonderful to jump in and cool off and Mario helped us with a river tubing trip that ended right at the hotel's desk. Camille who cooked the food was so wonderful and kind and we really loved the delicious local dishes she made for us. While staying there we saw agoutis, howler monkeys, hummingbirds, a toucan and a jaguarundi right on the property.
