On arrival gave name and receipt was thrust in my hand. Pub Area very run down . After taking money told no food and have to go to local co op. Partner diabetic. Reliant on eating times for sugar levels. We had not been advised of no food policy on Mondays. Looked at room. Which resembled a prison cell. We immediately left. We took half an hour to find suitable food. Unfortunately Resulted in hypo for partner after 5 hour drive. We rang and said we would not be returning and was told that ******* refund the money . For £380.00 I find this very unfair. Photo on line when booking very deceiving. Will not return

Perfect stay Lovely place, very clean and staff couldn't do enough to make my stay great. Food was excellent and fresh and hot.

FREEZING Had to come through the bar to check in. It was full of rowdy guys being really quite aggressive with each other with lots of swearing (F*** & C*** being liberally thrown around). I have to say (even as a 6 foot, 19 stone guy), that this was not welcoming and quite off putting. The room was freezing - absolutely no heat until after I checked in at 5.30 when it was put on. I had to sit in my car in the car park to attend a Zoom call because it was so cold in the room. Room was a little warmer after I had eaten, but woke in the night to find all heating was off again. Got up this morning with zero heating on. Simply too cold to even contemplate a shower. Heating still off when I went down for breakfast. I simply don’t expect to be freezing in a hotel, B&B or pub bedroom.

Really good food but the week night we picked was very rowdy with lots of men talking and swearing so loudly that we couldn't hear what our friends were saying. I'm not sure why the landlord didn't ask them to tone it down a bit. As I said the food was exceptionally good but unfortunately we wouldn't go there again as there was no ambience whatsoever.

Good as a pub. Noisy in bedroom from music in bar below until closing time. Good breakfast, friendly staff. Outside area (used predominantly for smoking) disgusting, unswept, uncleaned for the 4 days there. No food on a monday evening
