Newer hotel, great breakfast, excellent service.

The property itself was fine - its a nice hotel, comfortable room and bed. No issue there. The reason for my 2 star review - during my stay there was a wind storm that went through that cut the power for several hours - middle of the night to past checkout. I get it, not their fault or under their control. However, when I went downstairs to find out any information or if there was anything at all that could be eaten as breakfast was included, I was presented with stale muffins and rotting fruit (yes, a couple of the apples were going bad!) and their attitude was "Oh well - nothing we can do" Ok I get the power was out, but being in the hotel industry, you have the responsibility to take care of your guests even in an emergency situation - they were definitely not trained in how to respond to the situation and were also not prepared AT ALL for the most predictable situation - a power outage. No generator, no lights for guests, nothing. Combine that with the poor attitude of the staff (no manager to be found) gives this hotel a failing grade - you can do better.

When i booked this place I didn't realized that nothing was surrounding it. I wouldn't have booked it otherwise but i was too excited about going to different places on the island. The bed mattress was soft so sleeping was painful, and the free breakfast made me want to run iff to the nearest focery store but there was none.

Having more cameras around the property and giving people a heads up of the crimes that are happening to avoid situations as to what happened to us where someone drilled a hole in our gas tank which apparently is a reoccurring situation…

No restaurant

It was quiet and comfortable. The front desk was helpful and gave advice on restaurants near by. They had an information sheet ready to go about all the amenities that the hotel provided. The breakfast was scrambled eggs made with powdered egg. There was sausages and a variety of cereals. You could toast your own bread slice or bagel, with condiments to add. The room was quiet even though the hotel is right off the highway. The hotel is in the same parking lot as a pot shop and liquor store, therefor there was the smell of smoking even though the hotel is smoke free itself, there was no smell in our room thankfully. The pool was great and the hot tub was working and the slide was great for kids and really fast.

Second time in a row that the hot tub doesn't work. Last year, it was broken; this year, something about the water temperature. We've been going there every Christmas for the last four or five years. My kids love the pool but without the hot tub, I'm not sure we'll be back. It's too bad because we love the stuff.
