Chalet Hotham is located 150 metres from the top of the Village chairlift and close to Mt Hotham’s iconic walking tracks.Come and escape to this ultimate ski chalet either for winter skiing at Australia's premier ski resort or to enjoy the cool summer air, exploring Mt Hotham’s extensive bushwalking and cycling experiences. The apartment has been designed to include all modern appliances and fittings including spa bath, gas log fire, leather lounges, DVD player, smart TV and wireless internet. Downstairs contains the living areas with incredible views across the resort, a dining area that seats up to 6 people and fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher and modern appliances. There is also a drying cupboard and laundry cupboard. Venture upstairs to the spacious bedroom with incredible views across the resort, bathroom with spa bath and extra-large shower. The very large bedroom comprises a queen size bed, bunk beds, large window/door to Juliette balcony to take in the fresh mountain air PARKING – Outside of the declared snow season (Oct – May), parking is available immediately adjacent to the property. During winter (June – Sept) there is ample short term parking (30 mins) around 100 metres from the chalet in the Corral car park on the side of the Great Alpine Road (the entry road into the resort). You can park there to unload luggage and passengers/family into the warm chalet. Once unloaded, the driver needs to take the vehicle to park at one of the resort’s overnight car parks which is around 2Klms further down the road (signage is great with parking officers directing traffic most of the time). The generous entry lobby has seating for you to do up your boots, drying room with plenty of space to hang all your ski outerwear and a fully equipped bathroom/laundry with shower, toilet, washing machine and dryer. Through a doorway you’ll find the large open plan kitchen/living/dining area is complete with all the creature comforts. The kitchen has an electric oven and stove, Nespresso coffee machine, microwave, pantry and all the crockery and glassware you’ll need. The large sofa and LCD flat screen TV make family movie nights a pleasure, or curl up in one of the cozy window seats with a book and enjoy the snowy outlook from the warmth of inside. The rear deck has a built in BBQ and is a great place to enjoy your gorgeous surrounds.First floor: The master bedroom has a king sized bed (which can be split into two singles upon request), two bedside tables with drawers and hanging space. The family bedroom has a queen sized bed, also with bedside tables and hanging space, and through the archway there are another two single beds. The family bathroom sports a luxurious corner spa bath (with shower overhead) and the separate toilet means there’s no need for interruptions.Loft: Come up the stairs (no ladder climbing required) and turn one way for two single beds, or the other direction reveals a king sized bed (which can be split into two singles upon request). Each bedroom has a queen sized bed in a separate room with a ceiling fan, electric heating/cooling, separate bathroom and a spacious lounge (each cottage has a fold out double sofa bed in the lounge) and kitchenette. Set in a private garden with a deck and barbeque with your own outdoor setting. Both cottages are only 30 metres from the river and are very secluded, with private bush tracks immediately at rear of the cottages. The town has two hotels, museum, cafes and a bakery serving fresh bread daily. Mountain Fresh trout and salmon farm is also a favorite activity along with our local lavender farm with its own cafe on the Ovens River.The town and Shady Brook is ideally situated for nature based tourism with the iconic walking tracks up through the Great Alpine National park. The Alpine National Park borders the Eastern side of Harrietville and your walk can start from your cottage to Mt Feathertop. Or take a drive 45 minutes to highest point of Mt Hotham. During the day take a stroll through over seven acres of landscaped gardens, walk along the river, or one of the private tracks on the mountain behind you.
