Worst accommodation I’ve ever stayed at in Australia in all my time here (35 years). Photos are so false. It was dirty, rundown, freezing (1 aircon for 2 rooms running at 27c & tiny oil filled radiator all night just bearable), with broken/scraped/peeling furniture from the 1970’s, freezing bathroom (it took 2 of us, one outside to close open window), ripped bed and even a previous occupants dirty clothes in a drawer! The sliding door had been left open (below zero overnight) so was concerned about security. If it hadn’t been 9pm would have left. We couldn’t wait to leave in morning and didn’t eat breakfast as so dirty. Given 1 star as electric blankets. And to charge $200 for one night. Total rip off. Do yourself a favour and DONT stay here!! I emailed after to complain and didn’t receive a response!

Very comfortable beds, clean and close to river walk to town (15mins). Lovely garden setting and helpful staff. Chairs in our room had peeling vinyl which was not a good look, and exhaust fan in bathroom not working. Our room #15 was quiet and we could barely hear neighbours, but not so for our friend in #2 who was woken a few times by sound of coughing next door. Sound insulation between rooms seems to be a frequent design problem in so many motels :(

We only stayed a single night and our options for accommodation in Bright were very slim. We stayed in a family suite, 2 bedrooms with a Queen bed and two singles. I’ll start with the pros: Good hot water and shower pressure Clean,crisp bed linen Nice lawn area around the tiny pool area. Cons: VERY outdated… VERY circa 1972. Had to jiggle the key in the front door for about 5 minutes every time we wanted to get inside. Toilet cistern leaked onto the floor all night. Bath had no taps, literally just had the springs remaining (lucky we were kid free this weekend!). Bed was so uncomfortable we should have driven home instead, both rolled into the middle all night and had a terrible sleep. The TV was glitchy and drove us insane with its poor reception. Zero phone service and NO wifi - take a book if you’re staying here, seriously. Won’t be coming back here again.

Clean, roomy and really appreciate we can have our dog with us. Heating in room was great as well as electric blankets. Location walking distance to shops. Very affordable we would stay again. Nice grassy area

Not a glamour spot but peaceful, comfortable, large rooms for charging our bikes & an economical stay. A pleasant walk into Bright along the river for our coffee & meals. We would happily return & agree with our friends who recommended we book here

I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the room change that occurred during my stay at High Country Motor Inn Bright. I had booked a 2 bedroom Family Suite for one night on the 24th of April 2023, and upon arrival, I was informed that I had been given a single family room instead. When I walked up to the reception to enquire about the change, I was shocked to hear that they were already expecting this complaint, indicating that this is not an isolated issue. The lady at the reception informed me that instead of charging me the X amount for the 2 bed room suite that I had booked, they charged me the Y amount, assuming that I would be happy with the change. However, this assumption is incorrect, as I had booked the 2 bedroom Family Suite in advance and expected to stay in that room. I was disappointed that the hotel staff did not discuss the change with me prior to my arrival and just made changes without informing me. As a customer, I expect better hospitality and communication from the hotel staff. I understand that issues can arise, but it is important to inform customers prior to making changes to their bookings. The lack of transparency in this matter has left me dissatisfied with the hotel's services and the quality of hospitality. I advise future guests to be cautious while booking rooms at High Country Motor Inn Bright and ensure that they confirm their room reservations before arrival.
