"We stopped in recently on a weekday for breakfast to treat ourselves and it was pretty disappointing. Two full 'Dickens' breakfasts that are described as including Cumberland sausage came with sausages that tasted to us like just standard pork chipolatas (no peppery flavour), but I accept that's pretty subjective. However, my husband's fried eggs were overcooked with no liquid or even jammy yolk at all and about half of the white of my poached eggs were still in the half-raw snot stage plus they hadn't been properly drained so there was a puddle of water on my plate. We also had to ask for butter for the toast, the mushrooms hadn't been trimmed so the cut ends of the stalks were tough and the tomato was full of hard green core inside. It all came across as so low effort, 'that'll do' mentality. In another review, the management responded to a criticism of the food with 'We always encourage guests to let a member of our team know while they are with us, as we would much rather have the opportunity to resolve any concerns immediately.' Well, we told our waitress about the eggs (just the eggs, because honestly we would have felt like such a pair of a***holes listing everything that was wrong), and her response was 'Sorry about that'. That was it. No offer of remaking the undercooked eggs or a bill reduction, not so much as a free top-up of tea (you don't get a drink included with your £13 breakfast). Training issue or policy? Who knows, and the effect on the customer is the same either way. The card machine was presented with the increasingly common simpering 'It'll just ask you a little question' and the question is, of course, an attempt to squeeze more money out of you in the form of a tip. I nearly laughed. The whole thing left us feeling like we'd been mugs for walking through the door. We're locals but I can't see us going back."

"我們在這家旅館住了一晚。千萬別去！這家旅館緊鄰一個退休房車營地，旅館的停車場也成了房車的過夜停車點。室外溫度只有零下10度，暖氣卻壞了。房間裡沒有窗戶，空氣不流通。為了通風，只能一直開著通往停車場的門。房間裡瀰漫著廉價清潔劑的味道，空氣悶熱潮濕。至於那種俗氣的裝飾，見仁見智。但基本的舒適度是必須的，尤其是在每人每晚收費超過300美元的情況下！硬邦邦的床上只有一條薄薄的棉被。為了禦寒，我最後只好穿了兩件套頭衫和羊毛緊身褲，實在沒辦法，只好用了給狗狗準備的毯子蓋在床上！晚上房間會亮起一個巨大的綠色「出口」標誌，而且關不掉。每面牆上都貼滿了「禁止事項…」的貼紙。浴室的洗手台漏水，塑膠淋浴房的門沒有把手，浴室中間的階梯讓我夜裡摔了兩次。前台接待員和這裡一樣令人毛骨悚然。早餐還不錯，但我們一夜沒睡。這是一次難忘的經歷，但完全是糟糕的體驗。"
