You will share this natural beauty with eagles, osprey, blue herons, loons, an occasional seal, prehistoric horseshoe crabs, oyster farms, and in the spring, over a million Alewives passing by the dock to spawn in nearby Damariscotta Lake––after climbing a classic 1500 foot fish ladder (first constructed in 1807), which is just a short walk down the road. The very first Cottage guests said they come to Maine each summer to explore and discover all the unique activities of coastal Maine and its villages. Yet they found Sea Lavender Cottage so comfortable, joy filled , and emotionally fulfilling, they did not want to leave each day....except to launch kayaks and join the beauty of the Bay. This property also features convenient access to US Route One (just a mile away) and is less than 5 minutes from twin villages of Damariscotta and Newcastle.More Property Details: The primary BR is extra large with a King bed and an ensuite bath which features an oversized, tiled, walk in shower. The second BR features a Queen bed (from Room and Board) and is directly across the hall to a full bath, complete with a tub and shower combination.All 1800 square feet of living space are on the main floor. The 600 square feet finished lower level with full size picture windows and walk out access to the dock is fully furnished and includes lots of space for activities. An item frequently enjoyed is the full size pool table. One recent guest even set up a practice putting green!Open a door off the living room and an adjustable awning covered second level deck above the shorefront with comfy cushioned furniture is there to enjoy any time of day. Frequently there is a stare down between Cottage guests sitting on the deck and a s/he Bald Eagle keeping watch on top of a very tall utility pole adjacent to her/his six foot wide nest with mate and fledgling high in a pine tree. Pick up some fresh seafood or stop at the local Sheepscot General to make a fresh, homecooked meal. Gaze out the windows at the back field, possibly catching some wildlife passing through. Heat Pump provides heating as well as air conditioning.Separate office space is perfect for tackling any work that needs to be done before heading out for the day. Marianmade Farm is a small boutique flower and lavender farm on the banks of the Sheepscot River with 13 private acres and 800' of shorefront. The property is filled with rows of lavender beds, hydrangea, peonies, and a countless mix of annual and perennial flowers. There is approximately 6 acres of wooded land and 7 acres of open space. *****PLEASE NOTE, THE AIRSTREAM IS NOT PART OF THE RENTAL FROM THE TUESDAY AFTER COLUMBUS DAY WEEKEND THROUGH JUNE 17th. WE WINTERIZE IT DURING THIS TIME PERIOD - SO THERE ARE ONLY TWO BEDROOMS (2 QUEEN SIZED BEDS) DURING OUR OFF SEASON)******Nestled at the height of the property is our beautiful 2 bedroom ICF construction cottage that sleeps 4 and a super sweet Air Stream Trailer that can sleep and additional 2 guests. In all there are accommodations for 6 adults or a combination of 2 adults and up to 4 children. The house has a full bathroom with tub-shower combo and each bedroom has a queen sized bed along with a small in room sink and vanity with personal mirror. The air stream has a full sized bed and 3/4 bathroom with sink, toilet and shower. The living room has a gracious seating area with a ventless gas fireplace and 43" flat panel tv. An Apple TV is supplied along with High Speed Cellular Internet. The kitchen is fully equipped for the most discerning chef. There is a stainless fridge / freezer combo, along with a dishwasher, oven and gas range. The kitchen cabinets have Carrara marble counter-tops and beautifully appointed finishes. Flanking the kitchen is a banquette dining space which can accommodate up to 6 guests. There is a corner booth and two additional chairs. The kitchen is outfitted with all the modern conveniences a cook could need. The specific amenities can be supplied on request.The full bathroom in the cottage has a subway tiled tub / shower combo with a toilet and single sink vanity.Bedroom #1 faces the river and the flower fields while bedroom #2 faces back to the private garden behind the cottage that leads to the air stream. Blackout shades are featured in both bedrooms for complete darkness while sleeping if so desired.The house also has individual washer and dryer units which are located within bedroom #2. There is plenty of parking for guests right next to the cottage. The property also has a european drying barn that is used for drying lavender and hosting weddings and private events. These facilities will not be in use during our HomeAway guest's stays, by others, however they are not included in the rental package of the cottage and air stream. A completely renovated waterfront home in the heart of Boothbay Harbor, The Sea Eagle is steps from the ocean with a private dock and balconies overlooking the sparkling harbor. Adventurous guests may sleep in the unique cove-side bungalow perched on the rocks at the top of the tide.The spaceThis home was in major disrepair when we bought it in 2020. Extensive renovations from the foundation up were required. My wife and our team of talented craftsman curated every detail, adding in old home charm with antique newel posts, period corbels and restored windows. No part of the home went untouched. The waters-edge shack was ramshackle when we bought the house. This too has been fully restored with a main floor and a loft that can accommodate 3 or 4 adventurous guests who want to sleep inches from the water. This includes a garage for one car with room for additional cars bedside the house or on the nearby side street.Other things to noteOur home has a tidal dock out back. Great for using the kayaks provided, swimming, or just enjoying a glass of wine in the Adirondack chairs while the tide rolls in. There is a first floor full bath with a pull out sofa in a den nearby, making one floor access an option for disabled guests. Please note, the house is very close to a busy street out front and has no fence at the shoreline.
