Hello & Welcome!Someplace Beneath the Moon - Black hawk is a cozy bohemian mountain home with all the best vibes. Our intention is to provide you with a comfortable place to stay in a beautiful setting. We welcome respectful friends, couples, families, and travelers to come and enjoy the fresh mountain air. We are located in the heart of Gilpin County at 9,000 ft in elevation, close to beautiful hikes, restaurants, casinos, breweries, and so much more!The spaceOur private mountain getaway is super cozy and very spacious for small groups. The space has two queen beds and two full baths suitable for families, couples, travelers, and friends. Guests have the entire house and property to themselves.Living area - The living space is full of natural light and is freshly refurnished. There is plenty of comfortable seating for you and your family to enjoy. The two large windows overlook the front porch and the beautiful mountain views of Golden Gate State Park across the street. We have wifi, a bluetooth speaker, and a smart TV with Netflix, Disney +, Prime, and HBO included. Being up in the mountains cell service can be a bit spotty. We do have a Verizon cell booster and both T-Mobile and At&t have spotty reception. Wifi calling works great!Bedrooms - The two bedrooms with queen beds are suitable for a traveler on the go or an extended stay. Each room offers comfortable bedding, a white noise machine, a steamer, plenty of hangers, large closet, a makeup mirror, and dresser for you to stay organized while being away from home.Kitchen and Dining - Our large kitchen is fully stocked for cooking and entertaining. We have a dining space off of the living room and a few bar stools in the kitchen that makes the perfect breakfast spot.Bathrooms - there are two full bathrooms stocked with high quality shampoo, conditioner, and plenty of comfy towels.We have a beautiful 3 season sunroom off of the master bedroom with big windows that overlook the back deck and our zen water fountain that runs until late fall. The sunroom is perfect for your morning coffee or afternoon tea. On a nice day, which it usually is, you can open the windows and embrace the fresh mountain air while listening to the fountain outside. The back deck offers lots of seating, a grill for cook outs, and two hammocks for you and your friends to enjoy. Our entire back yard is completely fenced in and private. We also have a horse shoe pit located in the front yard!One of our favorite parts of our space is the hot tub! Its super private and will be ready for you to enjoy when you arrive. The tub is not the newest feature on the property but it's clean, comfortable, and a great way to relax after a long day of enjoying the area! We will have a few robes located in the laundry room along with hot tub towels. Our guest are also more than welcome to use the washer and dryer during your stay.Our gravel driveway may be considered steep by some but it does not require a 4x4 vehicle and there are plenty of parking spaces available.As secluded as we are, we are within walking distance to Taggert's convenience & gas located across the street, but not in view from the property. If you're feeling a little adventurous the Underground Liquor Store is also a short quarter mile walk.Winter at 9,000 ft can start as early as September but doesn't fully set in until November. In the winter months you can expect a snow packed, plowed driveway, two sets of snow shoes, and a hot tub ready for you to enjoy.Guest accessOur gravel driveway may be considered steep by some but it does not require a 4x4 vehicle and there are plenty of parking spaces available.Other things to noteOur home is located at 9,000 ft in elevation and is usually about 10-15 degrees cooler than the Denver area. The snowy season can start as early as September but usually doesn't go into full swing until November& December. Guests may have to shovel out (snow shovel provided) the driveway if there is a large snowstorm during the visit. Large snowstorms occur 1-5 times/season. It is recommended to be able-bodied during winter/early spring months.WILDLIFE- Please do not leave trash and food outside as this will attract wildlife! Bears, elk, big horn sheep, and deer roam the area. However, encounters are rare.WIND- The cabin occasionally gets high winds, especially in the winter months, sometimes reaching up to 65 miles per hour. The noise from the wind can be quite noticeable. Ensure you and your guests understand that such conditions may exist during your stay.LANDSCAPE- The land can be uneven, rocky, and dangerous in the Rocky Mountains. The living room boasts huge floor to ceiling windows with amazing mountain views and a cozy wood burning stove.In the master suite, you can lay in the king-size bed and stare through the sky lights at stars and planets without dilution of city lights. The large master bath includes a steam shower, soaking tub, and a private balcony with a forest view.Two queen bedrooms and a full bath are all on the main level. The lower level has a bedroom with a queen bed and two twin beds. Once entered, they will land you at our front door.Other things to noteThings of importance:• There is parking for four cars in the driveway.• From fall-spring, a four-wheel drive car with snow tires is a must as our driveway is steep and snow can be unpredictable. We will do our best to clear the driveway of snow, if it snows overnight and you plan to leave early in the morning, we may not be able to clear it in time, so please plan for this contingency.• Absolutely NO SMOKING or vaping on the property. Inside or outside. If you smoke, please don’t book our place.• There is a FIRE BAN. No open fires!• No Pets• We are on a septic system. No feminine hygiene down toilets. $500 fine.• No glass in hot tub. $500 fine.• For security purposes, there is a motion active camera facing the driveway and a doorbell camera.• Per Gilpin County: Maximum 6-person occupancy.TRASH•There is large bear proof trash container in the garage. Please use the trash compactor in the kitchen to condense your trash as much as possible and place it in the garbage can in the garage.•Trash pickup is on Monday. Place the garbage bags in the trash container at any time during your stay and for sure at the end of your stay. The garbage bin will be taken to the end the driveway on Monday morning. Just leave it inside the garage.•There is no recycling in our neighborhood so all trash, including glass, carboard, aluminum, etc., must be placed in the large black bags and in the bear proof container.
