The Brick Barn combines traditional materials with modern comforts for a cosy and stylish break in the heart of the New Forest. The sense of space has been retained by keeping the ground floor living area to its full height with a mezzanine landing and exposed rafters. This reflects how the barn used to be with a partial floor to store the grains for milling below. The mill wheel is still on the side of the barn and this was driven by a steam engine back in the day. As was traditional in these barns, the downstairs has a soft brick floor and upstairs is laid with recycled oak floor boards from a 180 year old Amish barn, both with underfloor heating. With gorgeous south-facing views towards Keyhaven Nature Reserve and IoW, it is ideal for couples, walkers, birdwatchers and cyclists looking for a relaxing retreat.The lodge backs onto gorgeous south-facing views of the Keyhaven nature reserve and Isle of Wight, and is complete with garden, chairs and bbq with both sets of doors opening onto the lawn. The lodge regularly gives you an up-close and personal experience with some of the local wildlife, with more permanent residents including Roe deer, owls, song birds, pheasants and more.Conveniently located on the main coast road from Lymington to Christchurch, Bournemouth and beyond. The cabin is situated away from the house in a secluded position in the garden of Crewkerne Cottage, just off the main route from historic Lymington to new Milton. It offers privacy, personal space and most importantly peace and quiet. Accessed through the large driveway, there's easy parking for multiple vehicles and storage for bikes. The lodge is just a short-walk down the gravel path away from the house and behind a fence for added privacy. We are mostly on-site throughout your stay so if there are any additional requirements, or recommendations needed please ask.Our cabin is self-catering and there are plenty of local shops, takeaways and a Waitrose nearby. When my father took over from his dad in 1951 there were 5 working horses in here. They were separated by stall partitions and had a hay manger under the window. This was filled with hay, forked down from the hay loft above. The horses were used for everything from ploughing the fields to towing the heavy dray carts and could be ridden too, if rather slowly. Charming homely centrally heated Victorian Cottage in the village of Pennington within the boundaries of the New Forest National park. The cottage is reportedly one of the oldest in the village it is situated opposite Pennington Common an area ideal for dog walking also with a new childrens play area.The cottage consists of a hallway, a modern bathroom with toilet and rain shower over bath.There is a very modern kitchen recently refurbished. There is a dishwasher, electric oven, gas hob, fridge freezer, microwave and is well stocked with crockery and utensils. There is seating for 4 around a circular dining table.The kitchen is open plan leading into a tastefully decorated lounge thoughtfully modernised but still retaining a beautiful black cast iron fireplace in keeping with the age of the property. There is a freeview TV with Netflix and Sky and a CD player.The lounge opens into a fully enclosed mature garden safe for your dog. Well stocked with plants and an ideal sun trap for Al fresco dining or relaxing on deck chairs provided.Upstairs there are 2 bedrooms,1 double with small feature cast iron fireplace and 1 single. Both bedrooms have plenty of storage and hanging space for your clothes.As with all cottages of this age the stairs are steep so particular care be taken with small children and anybody with mobility problems.The village of Pennington is no more than a few minutes walk away and has two convenience stores one being Tescos. There is also a chemist,fish & chip shop and pub with food. Also within walking distance is an indoor swimmimg pool.The attractive Georgian town of Lymington is 5 minutes drive or a 15 min walk away. There is a fantastic Saturday market which is spread down the length of the High Street. There are many individual shops, restaurants and cafes. There is a lovely cobbled street leading down to the picturesque harbour. In the summer there is a terrific outdoor sea water pool with large inflateable area with a section for paddle boarding as well as swimming.
