Nice but lobby no good

Bourton-on-the-water , Had a wonderful stay 5-8th January 2024 for my partners 41st Birthday celebration. Lodgings were comfortable, cosy, very well located & included a superb Breakfast, hot & very tasty. Isabella, the hosts representative was brilliant, very helpful, well mannered, polite and extremely assistive, ( P.S hope you enjoyed your Magnum's :-) Do not expect The Savoy level of stay when paying Travelodge prices, Building is old and quirky, wonky doors, walls, floors, etc, but has much character, lovely spaces and is very clean, tidy and well serviced. Was a great base for exploring all the Cotswolds has to offer, would defo stay again. A few things to note, in busy summer months Bourton is absolutely rammed, excessively busy, beware ! From the end of the first week of January most businesses close for 2-3 weeks holiday, as open most of the Chris**as 🎄 period, for Food shopping and supplies there's a great Co-op about 5 minutes walk from chestnuts use the alleyways its quickest route. ☆☆☆☆☆

Great location, room was clean with the most comfiest bed I've ever slept in. Breakfast was lovely with good quality ingredients & the staff were very welcoming & helpful,having free parking was a bonus as even out of season the village was busy, thoroughly enjoyed our stay, will definitely stay here again❤️

What a lovely town. The B&B experience at Chestnut over the holidays was impeccable. The staff is very warm and inviting and provided great accommodations and a wonderful breakfasts. The Xmas poppers were a special surprise for us Yanks and made the Cmas breakfast extra special.

Firstly the positives Great location, nice breakfast bed clean Negatives Room not as clean as we would expect, toilet has probably never seen bleach. Towels were like brillo pads.needs a refurb and smelt very musty. Would definitely not stay again. My photos say it all

My wife and I stayed for one night and loved it. Lis is great, a warm welcome and she is such fun. We stayed in room 4. Four poster bed with en suite and lemurs wallpaper ! The breakfast was excellent. The location perfect, right in the centre of Bourton just across from the river. We would definitely stay here again. Mark & Jo

The room was promoted as a Family room. I don't know where any children would have slept if we'd brought any as there was only 1 double bed and and a sofa with broken springs. I know that very old buildings have some quirky features so I expected uneven floors and creaking floorboards but not stained and threadbare carpet. The room was very cold with one small inadequate radiator. But the bathroom was positively arctic as there was no heating at all (don't be fooled by the heated towel rail - it doesn't work) therefore towels never dried and as the room was not serviced as we only stayed 2 nights, the second day's shower was not a pleasant experience. The towels themselves were very small and thin. Saying that, the host was very friendly and welcoming, the breakfast was excellent and the parking was a bonus as the B&B is in an excellent location in the centre of the village and Bourton is a good centre for exploring the Cotswolds.

The photos on website give a wrong ,untruthful impression of the rooms.We had 2 rooms, both of which were in need of refurbishment.Our bathroom was smelly and stuffy and the towels were hard, smelly and stale. The highlight of the 2 night stay were the breakfasts which were nicely presented by very nice pleasant helpful staff.Chestnut is very well situated in the centre of Bourton and very nice to be able to wander along the little river and explore in the evening.

Located center of the village, good size rooms, could do something about the creaking floor boards and the shower water pressure, but offers lovely breakfast, very accommodating with our food requirements. Friendly staff. a lovely stay.
