It's true that this is an amazing experience. I feel as though I've been away for a whole week after a two-day stay. I highly recommend going here for the natural beauty, the sound of the Ocean, the Milky Way at night, the beautiful grounds. The restaurant is also first-rate. July-August are pretty busy times in Big Sur so off-season would give you the full Big Sur experience...It's rough on the wallet.

This is one of the most beautiful places on earth. We have stayed for 3-4 days at least once a year since 1995. The service is superb. Two infinity pool overlooking the Pacific, massages in the spa or your room. We have always stayed in a Lower Coastal House which gives you the sense of being in a luxurious cabin in a redwood forest with the ocean at your feet (down a very steep cliff). Be sure to walk Billy's Trail. Look for the wild turkeys and deer. We've seen bobcats and foxes too. Every once in a while we will see condors - once flying low over one of the pools. Sierra Mar is the restaurant on site. This is our heaven.

The warm hospitality and the kindness shared on property was palpable and felt through every experience. I actually shed a few tears when it was time to leave as I have NEVER been so moved and emotionally connected to a place like I was with Post Ranch. It’s so easy to see why Post Ranch is ranked as the #1 Hotel in the World as it’s also now my #1 favorite hotel in the WORLD. I fell in LOVE with the organic design and how the sustainability storytelling is delicately woven throughout every experience. We were so lucky to have the most perfect weather and had the most beautiful Ocean suite I could ever imagined and the outdoor soaking tub made all of the difference. My experience there was very spiritual there as I felt so deeply connected to the nature, the trees, the ocean and the sky — I have never seen so many stars in the sky in my entire LIFE. It was though the heavens had reached down to give us a hug and a pat on the back as we were overwhelmed by the sense of gratitude we felt for you and the experience shared. The sustainability experience and model was life-changing to witness as it reflects such a solid foundation that all developers, hoteliers, and travelers should value and consider; it represents such a valuable model for a sustainable future. We loved the thoughtfully, local-sourced and sustainable amenities shared in the mini-bar and appreciated how they were all plant-based! It was incredible to learn how all of your water is sourced and treated on property and I adored the glass water bottles in room. It made me so happy to see how you are motivating giving back - and keeping it front and center - through the community fund/QR code that is highly visible for every guest. I also had the most comfortable sleep of my entire life! My favorite part of my sleep was waking up to the ocean through the glass wall placed next to the bed. I truly felt “immersed” in nature rather than just being an observer. I am now trying to sort through how I can adopt more of the design for my own home! The sod roofs and shapes of the organic design to mimic the shapes of the redwoods were also stunning. Ken led the sustainability tour and he was excellent! He was so informative and shared more about the history, design and taught us a few things about the redwoods we did not know. It was intriguing to learn more about the intricate communications systems of the redwoods and how their “babies” sprout next to the original redwood and often form the same root base and how some of them will grow a “fairy ring.” I was fulling soaking up the ancient energy of these special beings who are amongst the oldest and tallest species on Earth, which is magical in its own right. Sierra Del Mar was incredible and loved how you have a dedicated plant-based menu. It was so thoughtful and creatively curated as well! The spa experience was also splendid - particularly loved how my massage literally took place “underneath” a redwood forest - OMG. The therapist

This is an absolutely outstanding hotel that combines an excellent level of service with quiet contemplation and appreciation of the natural beauty of Big Sur. Perfect for those wishing to escape hustle and bustle at the same time, enjoy “outstanding food and wine. It would be fair to say that the prices are not for the faint hearted, but worth every penny. All of the lodges are exceptional in their design, and Fitting out. In contrast to the normal request for the ocean view, we had a view of the mountains which was absolutely spectacular. Post Ranch is the quietest hotel I have ever stayed. The sky was so clear that we could see the stars twinkle. The amenities of the room and the friendliness of the staff complement the natural beauty of the setting. We had an exceptional, memorable stay.

We decided to be married (just us- no family/no friends/no stress) at the Post Ranch Inn where we had happily stayed previously and had the best possible experience. The wedding planners Derek and Hana were on top of everything and made the complete experience so deeply memorable and powerfully romantic. They arranged everything for us and didn’t even flinch when, on the day of our wedding, we asked for the ceremony to be moved earlier 90 minutes. The setting for the ceremony in the redwoods was serene, majestic, pin-drop quiet, altogether spectacular. We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect experience. The officiant they recommended, the photographer we chose from their list, the florist they use, the cake they made for us, the champagne and dinner reservations, the hairstylist they recommended, the car that picked me up to take me close to the wedding site, the fact that they arranged for our marriage license- we didn't have to go anywhere else to finalize it- all were perfect. We knew, from our previous stays, that the restaurant would be amazing, and it was again. We were too late to book one of the separate houses as we had before, so we were in an upper Pacific Suite with our private hot tub and deck- it certainly met our needs and then some. We know that the weather there can be unpredictable but we were lucky and it turned out to be an absolutely gorgeous day. We couldn’t be happier with our choice to be married there.

Post Ranch Inn is worth it for the sightlines alone. The placement right above the ocean is exquisite - there's nothing like seeing the water and the fogline go off into the horizon. We were there at a great time of year - warm but not too hot. And so hiking the grounds, enjoying the yoga and meditation, and relaxing in the evenings at the pools were all wonderful parts of the experience. The room was wonderful - the hot tub on the patio was amazing, especially at night when you could see all the stars, too. The inside is also really nice - cozy bed, huge shower, awesome snacks. The staff was serious when they said the cookies are must-haves. I hope we can go back again and enjoy Big Sur even more.

Aman like, only different. I know that doesn’t make sense, but the setting can’t be beat. The rooms are situated to take advantage of the stunning views. Food is outstanding, but to me the place felt a little tired. However, I’d return in a second!
