Amazing spot for pacific coast views

I recently spent a few nights at The Post Ranch Inn and I have to say it was the nicest property I’ve ever stayed at. From the luxury accommodations - where every detail exceeded my expectations, to the breath taking views - the Post Ranch Inn has redefined for me what a five star resort experience looks like. It was so nice I even extended my stay. The thing that makes the Post Ranch truly exceptional is the staff they have working there. From DJ, Jeff, Grayson and everyone at the front office to Aldo at the bar (who made me feel like I was at my local pub) I truly felt like I was part of a big family working together to deliver their guests the best stay imaginable. Make sure to do the Falconry class with Antonio - you will learn so much about birds of prey and the local environment. It was one of the most unique experiences and I got to have hands-on interactions with the birds. Martin (who I found out was the unofficial mayor of Big Sur) and Nick from the maintenance department were genuine, friendly and went out of their way to make me feel welcome. Sono appena stato al Post Ranch Inn e devo dire che la struttura è davvero bellissima. La camera era stupenda e il personale alla reception estremamente cordiale e disponibile. In particolare, voglio ringraziare il ragazzo che ci ha gentilmente avvisati della pressione bassa di una ruota dell’auto e si è premurato di sistemarla subito. Un gesto molto apprezzato! Purtroppo, devo segnalare alcune note negative, soprattutto per quanto riguarda il ristorante. Pur non essendo un esperto di cucina, ho trovato i piatti poco curati e per nulla raffinati. Ho ordinato dei gamberi come antipasto e delle falafel come secondo: nulla di eccezionale. Inoltre, ho chiesto dell’olio che mi è stato portato solo dopo 15 minuti. La colazione è stata un’altra esperienza deludente. La ragazza che ci ha serviti sembrava del tutto svogliata, con un atteggiamento poco professionale. Abbiamo chiesto del pane tostato, ma si è dimenticata di portarci i piattini. Continuava inoltre a farci fretta dicendo che la colazione stava per terminare e che la cucina stava chiudendo. Senza che lo chiedessimo, ci ha portato subito il conto, facendoci sentire ospiti indesiderati. Vorrei anche segnalare un’area sotto al ristorante da cui si può godere di una vista splendida sul panorama e sul tramonto. Tuttavia, proprio lì sono visibili dei macchinari per la depurazione e vari tubi a vista, che rovinano l’atmosfera. A mio avviso, non sarebbe opportuno far accedere le persone in quella zona, oppure bisognerebbe almeno mascherare visivamente quelle strutture tecniche. Soprattutto considerando i prezzi elevati, ci si aspetterebbe un livello di servizio e qualità decisamente superiore. Peccato, perché il posto ha un grande potenziale, ma alcuni dettagli – in particolare la ristorazione e la gestione dell’esperienza complessiva – hanno deluso le mie aspettative. Non credo che ci tornerò.

Nos alojamos en este resort durante un viaje que hicimos recorriendo el Big Sur, desde Los Angeles hasta San Francisco, y ahora con los pavorosos incendios que están sufriendo, he recordado ese viaje familiar que hicimos hace más de 15 años y que disfrutamos tanto junto a mis hijos adolescentes. Espero que no hayan sufrido daños. El resort era magnífico con vistas espectaculares. Las habitaciones disponían de chimenea y eran muy confortables. Las señoras que regentaban el resort te ofrecían agua, queso, zumos y frutos si querías hacer una excursión por el campo que compartías con los animales que viven allí en plena libertad. En fin no guardamos más que buenos recuerdos y les deseo que logren recuperarse de las pérdidas sufridas en la zona.

This was our first visit to Big Sur and the Post Rqnch Inn. It was magical. The stunning natural beauty was complimented by the serenity of Post Ranch Inn. The property, our room and amenities and attentive staff allowed for us to completely relax. It was as a restorative experience. I am looking forward to a return visit in the future.

Dear Tim Lee - While I appreciate that you took the time to reply, I do not agree with your comments.   Please go check your website and tell me where it states that guests cannot enter your property beyond the guard station.   Your website is misleading in this regard.    Second, I have travelled around most of the world and found that most "blissful" retreats are really not very "blissful".   I've lived in Carmel-By-The-Sea for several years besides traveling the world    What makes an experience "blissful" is the warmth and welcome of people I've met around the world.   I've seen the most "blissful" oceans, lakes, mountains and none of them were that blissful if the hospitality of people is lacking.   Something for the Post Ranch Inn staff, including yourself, to consider.
