ITH 大熊度假屋中心及青年旅舍(ITH Big Bear Lake Hostel & Retreat Center)

I came up for a few days to snowboard Bear mountain. I generally planned to be out most the day snowboarding or exploring alone, so I just needed a quick bunk for the night. I decided to stay here at ITH big bear hostel, which I was caught by surprise of how fun and communal it was. So many other travelers I met doing the same thing. Chasing the Snow storm for some fresh powdered tracks. Long story short we noticed our like-mindedness, and ended up hanging with eachother on the slopes, at the local eateries, and back at the hostel. A trip that was planned solo, ended up being a trip with friends ! i’ve never felt so welcomed by the staff, volunteers, and other habitants of ITH big bear. Everyone was easily approachable and helpful when it seemed like I needed it. i’ll never forget this experience, and I plan to stay here more often ! Room had a space heater that didn't work properly, there were no real curtains and bright flood lights outside, they also blasted music at night. The staff person asked me to move my car after I got there for no reason, and it may it difficult for me to get into my car later. The website said there's breakfast, but they are just providing groceries for you to cook yourself.

It was last moment reservation and I was lucky to find this place. Absolutely warm and friendly feeling during all the time of staying. Price is very low and omg! breakfast included! Hasan thank you so much for your help. I don’t remember all names but all the staff was doing excellent job!

Stayed here for a night on a quick snowboarding trip getaway. Would come back. Wonderful staff and the bed was very comfortable. Clean and warm room. Nice folks I met in the kitchen. Great location too.

This adorable rustic cabin hostel was a delight to stay at! The staff was so friendly, helpful and welcoming. We had great conversations! They truly went above and beyond to make my stay enjoyable and comfortable. I had a private room with a private shower and bathroom. The rooms were clean, the bed was comfortable and it was quiet and peaceful. The hammocks and hot tub were lovely to relax in after a day of adventuring. I would highly recommend this spot for a Big Bear trip if you want to meet fellow travelers and make friends from all around the world! It's also conveniently locating to many attractions and walking distance to the lake, shops and restaurants.

First time to stay here and I would say it’s not comfortable. Everything is too small and old. Great thing I brought lysol wipes with me to clean. Shower is very small. Not ideal to take shower. I wonder why they did such small shower and nobody can use. Just a catch to have someone rent it. This is like a very last resort and no choice place to stay. The staff are really nice and friendly. I hope they will fix the rooms and the restrooms upstairs. And the place is very old so needs updating and cleaning.

Stayed here cuz it wasn’t convieniently located and a decent price. Room was cozy, understandable for the price. Staff was friendly enough. I had an issue with the power in my room thou, it went out 3 times, first time for over an hour while they figured it out but the last time was at 11:30 pm and there was nobody around to help get it back on. This was the night that it got to 20 degrees outside and I had no heater couldn’t shower or charge my devices or watch tv. They said it was cuz I had too many things plugged in but I only had the heater and TV plugged in. I didn’t even bother telling them about the final time since I was checking out first thing in the morning. The property was chill. I thought they offered breakfast but all I found was toast, it said they offered drinks and or derves, there was a bottle of tequila on the fridge 🤷🏻‍♂️ But that was about it. Wasn’t as social as I expected. There was a group of people the staff seemed pretty friendly with, they all had a dinner together and I had a cup of soup in the other room. I’m honestly ok with that but it just didn’t live up to the friendly social experience it had claimed to be. Yogi was cool thou. Price was fair for the accommodations, but the whole issue with the power in my room staying on then being blamed as if it was my fault for having too much plugged in when I only had the heater and tv on and maybei was charging my phone.

The staff obviously got on very well with each other and enjoyed working there. They were eager to point out all the features of the property and the activities they'd arranged for the guests. Basically, they really seemed to want us to enjoy our stay. There were only a handful of people staying there the single night we did, but all of them were interesting to chat with. It was much more fun than if I'd stayed in a hotel.

Very affordable and clean place to stay! The hot tub was hot and ready after a long day of snowboarding. Lots to do in the game room and a really cool vibe at the ITH hostel. The free breakfast was a nice touch and it is quite handy to have a kitchen to cook in.
