Came back yesterday 28th after a near perfect two week break.first time flying out from John Lennon airport with jet 2 , seemed much quicker than Manchester one big issue for us though was the walk outside to the plane ,the rain wasn't an issue but the fumes from the planes as we passed were truly awful, so strong and very unpleasant which jet 2 needs to sort out. Arrived on time to glorious sunshine and just a short walk we arrived at our hotel ,have to say carrying two full suitcases up those two flights of steps nearly did me in but that was the only thing I could really moan about. Rooms are plenty big enough for a couple, very clean and kept very clean considering luggage etc was hindering the cleaning staff, loved the shower and loved the view even more literally ten yards from the beach and proper sea views. Air conditioning was a godsend as it got really hot in the afternoon. All the staff have to be commended, they are so nice ,even more so for us as my better half was unfortunately was hospitalised with a severe infection and spent three days in the hospital. Nurses did as you would expect a fantastic job but it is like a cattle market inside and a horrible experience, very few English speaking as you would expect but no privacy whatsoever there ,when you are wired up with drips etc and have to use a bed pan but with no curtains between beds and visitors next to you or examining the patient's next to you make it an embarrassing time, felt quite helpless and my wife felt so alone, scared ,and felt quite intimidated at times, all the hotel staff showed their concerns and for that I,m very grateful. Continental breakfast is adequate if not a little limited however for those having withdrawal symptoms from a fry up I can recommend the waterfront cafe/bar on the beachfront, definitely the best breakfast we had on our stay. Some decent restaurants on the front also plus an Italian restaurant where the coach drop off is. The beach is lovely, pretty clean no smoking though some did ignore the signs which was annoying, can get busy especially at weekends, no sunbeds until June apparently so we spent 90 euro on two reclining chairs so not a problem then we just gave them to another family when the time came, quite why they still class May as out of season is puzzling, not a lot to do but they had a an hours exercise class twice a week at the end of the beachfront and a twice weekly market nearby ,decent supermarket also very close and a chemists so most of your needs are catered for ,beautiful weather for the whole two weeks and plenty warm enough at nearly thirty degrees only dissapointed was the near total lack of entertainment at night ,took us by surprise being so close to Benidorm but it is only a short bus ride away and I think it's exactly how the town likes it. So much to like about this resort and especially the hotel,we would so like to return next year but that all depends on my better halfs health.
