The Diamond Stars Hotel presents itself as the epitome of luxury in Bentre, yet upon closer inspection, it falls short of its proclaimed five-star status. While it may be the most luxurious option in this small city, it's more aptly categorized as a three to four-star establishment. Let's begin with the positives. The staff members were undoubtedly sweet and accommodating, diligently fulfilling our additional requests made in advance. The club room boasted ample space and offered a pleasant view of the river, bridge, and the spectacular ***** New Year fireworks, providing memorable moments during our stay. However, the shine of these positives quickly fades when confronted with the hotel's shortcomings. The cleanliness of the room left much to be desired; the floor was so grimy that our socks turned black underneath. The state of the bathroom sink was appalling, with an accumulation of grime and unidentifiable debris indicating a lack of thorough cleaning. To add to the disappointment, the amenities were not replenished throughout our four-day stay, and the hotel even charged for a laundry bag, which should be considered a basic provision. Furthermore, despite displaying a ”do not disturb” sign, staff members persisted in knocking on our door, disrupting our peace. The lack of soundproofing in the room meant that we were subjected to every conversation in the hallway and neighboring rooms, severely impacting our comfort and privacy. The absence of a gym or spa, purportedly due to them not being ready yet, was another disappointment considering the hotel's five-star billing. Additionally, the lack of taxis readily available around the hotel meant lengthy wait times of 20 to 30 minutes when requesting transportation, which inconvenienced our plans and detracted from the overall experience. In conclusion, while the Diamond Stars Hotel may currently hold the title of Bentre's first five-star hotel, its quality and service do not reflect this accolade. Should there be no alternative five-star accommodations in the foreseeable future, we may reluctantly find ourselves returning to this establishment out of necessity rather than choice. It's a disappointing realization that even the purported pinnacle of luxury in Bentre falls short of expectations, leaving much to be desired in terms of both quality and service.
