Botanic Rest 民宿(Botanic Rest Bed & Breakfast)

I booked a twin room and there was a stain on one of the duvets. There was mould on the shower roof. Overall standard was very poor. One bed had a headboard, the other didn't. Breakfast was included but I couldn't eat in the place after staying in the room. The website advises free parking but it's on street parking and it's in an area of student housing so it's not safe to leave your car there overnight.

Botanic Rest B&B was clean and basic. It lost points for noise and safety. When we checked in we took our suitcases up the stairs. About halfway to our room in the hallway on a few stairs up, a man was doing some repairs in the doorway to a room. His tools (including an electric screwdriver) were in the middle of the stars and hallway. We had to move them, so we could get past. Pretty unsafe. The breakfast was nice. They had the usual continental breakfast and you could order hot items off the menu. We were on the 3rd or 4th floor. I lost count going up so many stairs. We had huge windows leading out to the street. The room was well lit, but warm. We opened the windows and could hear the street noise. Apparently, there was a bar/restaurant on the corner that was hopping well into the wee hours of the morning, so we got to listen. Then, early in the morning we could hear kids playing on the street. Needless to say, we didn’t rest much. There were lights in the mirror of the bathroom which flashed constantly no matter what we did. I wasn’t sure if I was in a disco or about to have a seizure. The location was perfect though, as we were moving our daughter into her house for Queens University.

This is very much a budget location, fine if you need a bed for the night. The room was pretty grotty and clearly not cleaned any more than a hoover and a change of bedding. The counter staff were always helpful when requests were made. The location itself is a student area, and with a lot of ********** around the streets at night, and both are loud!

We liked the room itself but there really was a lot of noise outside the room, that was quite problematic.

No frills but excellent value for money, central location, perfect for going out in Belfast City Centre.

I stayed here with my son in a twin en suite. It’s geographically at the heart of Belfast so well placed for places to eat and drink. From the outside it looks a bit shabby as it’s about 4 town houses knocked into one property. The room we had was small, with en suite shower. It was clean, the beds are comfortable and the shower was fine. Basic but everything worked and looked clean. Breakfast was a little too basic. Cereal rice crispies or cornflakes and toast with tea and coffee in a flask. Just having muesli or iced water or fresh juice rather than diluted squash would have helped. They only do cooked breakfast on the weekend. I didn’t have it so can’t comment. I’m guessing like others who have commented the major downside of the place is it’s mostly young people getting drunk and coming and going in a loud way until probably 4am and if like us your room overlooks the street then you have people outside chatting away till all hours. Consequently sleep was difficult. So the crux of choosing to stay here is really which demographic you fall in as to whether this is suitable for you. It’s cheap, clean, approachable staff, but noisy and warm rooms at night probably like a university halls of residence.

For the price of the room we were happy with what we got. Decent sized double room with an en-suite. Rooms were cleaned every day. Staff were friendly and helpful any time we talked to them. Only negatives is that at night the room was hotter than the sun even with the window open and slamming doors could be heard through the night.

It’s not the Ritz; but if you’re looking for central, clean, cheap and cheerful; it works. Basic continental breakfast but worked perfect for us. Came in late and went away early. The people here are very nice and friendly; as are all Belfast people.

Clean would definitely recommend you ask for an onsuite as one off the showers weren't great and unusable staff very attentive locations was brilliant very vibrant 15 min walk to town
