Although the overall experience was average. What we discovered was far from the standard and expectation we have from a Taj property. The main water body around the main restaurant didn’t have a single live lotus flower in any of the plants basins -but had muck and unpleasant dead plants; making you feel like no one was really caring about these spaces and the aesthetics. The room was shabby, and unkempt; and felt more like a poor quality guest house with broken taps, poor sanitation including black mould, water clogging in the basin, rusted shelves, dirty floors, a dead cockroach, broken woodwork, and barely any floor mats. The curtain lacked hemming, the room safe had no battery, and the cob webs on the iron gate felt like it hadn’t been cleared in a few months. The service staff seemed tired and struggling with long shifts and didn’t seem ready for breakfast service as tables were not ready and didn’t have cutlery. We had repeated wrong services from what we thought were simple instructions for our eggs, on all days we were staying here. The spa was overall good; food was good. When it comes to value for what we were charged; we feel cheated of a great experience! The staff did try and make our daughter’s birthday special in small ways which we do appreciate. The feather in the Taj hospitality was clearly lacking lustre. If things don’t change, as a well-wisher I can see how things will go downhill if someone from the leadership team doesn’t pay attention to the important details.
