We discovered Waterberg Cottages through a friend who has been coming here to set up the Observatory, and we’re so glad we did. Booking directly with the owner was straightforward, and what drew us to Waterberg Cottages was its serene atmosphere. The walks here are perfectly manageable between meals, offering the freedom to explore safely and at your own pace. The variety of game is impressive and easily visible, making our game drive with Phil a highlight. Phil's insightful commentary on both the wildlife and the stars added a fascinating layer to the experience. One of the luxuries at Waterberg Cottages is the indulgent bath, a rare treat in Gauteng. The large patio table is ideal for hosting dinners, whether it's for sunset drinks or evening meals. While the electric patio light is handy, the paraffin lamps provide a charming ambiance. Watching the horses pass against the sunlit backdrop in the afternoon and lounging on the sleeper couch to enjoy the sunset or observe the animals at the waterhole are truly idyllic experiences. The hosts are incredibly warm, genuine, and welcoming. Their talent is evident in the beautiful art displayed around the cottages, created by various family members. They’ve thought of every detail, even preparing the braai with kindling, ensuring a memorable stay. Waterberg Cottages offers a perfect blend of comfort, natural beauty, and exceptional hospitality.
