I can only describe our stay as perfect in every way and just disappointed that we only had one night. The hotel is everything and more, a lovely warm welcome. The room was spacious, beautiful interior and comfy bed. Views from the hotel are spectacular and the restaurant is top notch. We had room 15, it was on the 1st floor and had extensive TV choices including Disney, Netflix. The carpet and furnishings were sumptuous and the bathroom had a shower cubicle and separate bath. Everything was pristine. We ate at the restaurant, the food was amazing, a five course set menu where service was effortless and each dish tasted as good as it looked. Great night's sleep and delicious breakfast. I can't wait to return again.

We had the wonderful pleasure of staying at the Borrowdale Gates Hotel for 9 glorious days and it could not have been better. We arrived and were greeted like family by Nicola. Throughout our stay she recommended places for us to visit and all of them were home runs, she did not disappoint. The kitchen chefs made incredible meals and accommodated our soy allergy without any problem. You will LOVE the food. The meal staff, Eleanor, Lucy, Chris and Marilyn always took time to chat with us and Chris always kept us laughing with his fabulous sense of humor. Marilyn made sure we had breakfast on our departure morning, as we left before the staff arrived. We commend all of the behind the scenes staff as well, they kept everything in order! However, we believe the glue to the Borrowdale Gates Hotel is their GM, Sue. She is amazing. She took care of us like we were family, introduced us the the chefs (I am so sorry I don’t remember their names) and told us many tales of sheep, Keswick and the Borrowdale Gates history, to name a few. We miss them all!! We hope to return and we would encourage anyone who is visiting the Lake District to stay at the Borrowdale Gates Hotel. You will be treated like royalty. (And, the property is gorgeous, the views incredible and remodeled interior is beautiful, sparkling clean, and very comfortable.)

A very quiet and relaxed hotel. The restaurant is excellent and the food delicious. Local food prepared to a very high standard indeed and beautifully presented by talented chefs. The price was included in the DBB and is extremely good value for the quality and excellent preparation of food. Breakfast is delicious and all meals were prepared to order and piping hot. The hotel also do light lunches and serve a very good fish or meal sharing platter. Worth a look in if passing by. The staff are excellent and very attentive and polite. A good hardworking team working well together. Marilyn is a star. One of the best hotel restaurants I have dined in, a comfy room, lovely Lakeland views and quiet and peaceful. So good booked to return Fully recommend

This was our 5th visit (3 more planned ). Found this home from home over 3 years ago. Cannot find anywhere better. Location is amazing whatever the weather, loads of walking straight from the door. Excellent bus service (buttermere bus will pick up and drop off at hotel). Staff are really friendly and helpful, food is amazing. Whole hotel has been recently refurbished (beautiful). Loads of returning guests which says a lot. Never want to return home

The location is outstanding, both for views of the local hills and for access to walks at all levels. The hotel grounds are also a treat. The hotel staff are welcoming, friendly and professional; the service is excellent. It manages to get the right balance by being both high quality and relaxed. Our room was spacious and the bathroom was modern and well equipped. Overall a wonderful experience!
