Arrived on 24th. We had booked via a third party. So not accepting a great room, Standard double This was my 60th birthday treat. Few weeks later , GHS you can check my details . I could have cried when I saw the shoe box we had been given I didn’t want to upset my husband so didn’t make a fuss. I noticed as were unpacking an unpleasant smell in the room . It’s then I saw all the stains, of various colours on the carpet. All over the room . I went to reception and ask for the carpets to be cleaned. I showed the photos of the carpets and was assured it would be done . Returning later that evening, the room had not been cleaned so we had to sleep with the smell . Next day I asked would it be sorted that morning. We were told we would be moved. Returning lunch time , we had informed the hotel prior to booking because of a medical condition I have I need to sleep several times during the day . We were told it would be arranged by the afternoon shift. So again I had to sleep in the smelly room . We were moved later when we returned to sleep again but it was pointed out to us we had booked a small, sorry standard room and could not except a bigger room . I accept this but I expected the room to be clean …. We were given a larger room at the side of the hotel. The room service is poor, slap dash at best. The TV remote has years of grime on it and we were bitten constantly The coffee pods are free for one day only. Then cost. 1.50€ each. buy your own at Tommys A completely unforgettable trip
