Great location, the Inn was reasonable priced, friendly innkeepers, pretty good food, room was comfy. Not much not to like.

We stayed here for only one night and wished we could have stayed more as we had the place to ourselves. The house is so cozy and comfortable and we enjoyed lounging by the pool. The innkeepers were super friendly and breakfast was amazing. I’m so glad they opened up for single night stays and we will definitely come back when we are back in NH next summer.

We stayed at 7 hotels during our holiday and this was our favourite. The couple who own and run the hotel, couldn’t be nicer and more helpful during our stay. It had a lovely swimming pool and had a very homely feel to our stay. Great place to access hiking trails and close to get up mountain Washington

Excellent, quiet, and quaint bed and breakfast. Easy access to North Conway and its many restaurants. Beds were comfy and breakfast was delicious, with bottomless coffee. However, the best thing about the inn are the hosts, Donna and Doug. They are warm, engaging and personable. The best hosts we have encountered. We look forward to our next visit!

There was an air of subtle quality about everything in The Buttonwood Inn, extending to even it's owners. We were welcomed into a sparkling clean and tastefully decorated space with courtesy and charm. Our large suite had it's own private entrance, with parking just a few steps away. Doug and Donna are two of the nicest people you'd ever want to meet, and they have done an outstanding job with the historic Buttonwood Inn. Knowledgeable about the area, they were easily able to recommend local attractions. Breakfast was tasty and plentiful, quickly delivered piping hot. As our stay coincided with a few unusually warm spring days (Shirtsleeves weather on top of Mount Washington!) there was no need for the fireplace, and Doug started up the Buttonwood's A/C just for us! We were so pleased with our stay that we can recommend The Buttonwood Inn without any hesitation whatsoever.

The Inn is frankly a disappointment in many (but not all) ways. First, the positive: the room and bed we had was comfortable. Parking was fine, but I saw no ramp for us to get out bags up to check-in. The coffee was available at 7:30 and good. The negatives (a sampler only). Our room like the public seating areas is over-filled with irrelevant tchotchkes, including on the nightstand. For example, who needs a small framed photo of the region beside the bed? That takes away space we need for anything needed in the night. The main sitting area is similarly cluttered. Most surprisingly was when our party (3 couples) moved a couple of chairs so we could have a short planning session, the owner was quick to make sure we would move the chairs back! Breakfast for all the hype in the website was a disappointment. First, beginning breakfast at 8:30 is likely convenient for the owners, but we came to North Conway to view the autumn colors, not wait and wait for breakfast (we were finally served at close to 9:30 AM). [the owner inexplicably did have time to tour around the breakfast room photographing the guests......why?] Breakfast was not worth the wait...we indeed got a bit of food around 8:30 -- a small, dense muffin sitting isolated on a plate that tasted like chocolate (carob?). We waited another 40 min. before the "main" part of breakfast arrived: scrambled eggs, served at approx. room temp. and fried potatoes, dull, dull. We quickly ate this modest fare, checked-out and hit the road an hr after we intended. This is not a top-end property and we would have been a lot happier at a regular motel in town.

Our room was clean, bed was comfortable, and place was quiet - all good. But at a B&B costing over $200/night, I expect more than one offering for breakfast. There were no buffet choices (like simple granola or cereal). One morning we were given a plate of eggs that I simply couldn't eat; another morning we were given yeast waffles that were definitely better - but not as good as mine! Also, all of the furnishings, especially the carpet in our room, looked like they'd been there for years ... and years.

We had a wonderful visit to the Buttonwood Inn last weekend. It is just off the main roads in North Conway so the location was very convenient. The Inn is nestled in the woods so you can enjoy a beautiful and peaceful setting. We mainly came for the changing of the leaves and we're not disappointed. This location is great for walking in the woods and enjoying the beautiful leaves and the view of the mountains. Paula and Bill are great hosts. It's like visiting with your grandparents. The rooms are beautiful.
