Worst 3 nights sleep of our lives actually. I’d read on Tripadvisor that the air con didn’t work. I’ve sent numerous emails, all to false email addresses. This was the address on a card given by a member in staff in Barry island Cardiff airport. We had no air con for 3 night, we were told on day 1 and 2 this was the “normal temperature” to then be told on night 3 by a more helpful staff member that the “air con would be fixed tomorrow” which was our leaving day. She apologised and advised us to complain. We would like to return, but this was the worst, and most uncomfortable stay we’ve ever had. In the middle of a heat wave. I don’t appreciate being lied to. Not by one member of staff, but 2. When we finally got the truth from 3rd member of staff, we had no recourse. On the plus side, rooms were clean, beds comfy and restaurant was pretty good. Terrible experience. And conveniently, there’s no email to complain to, and no chance of any compensation.

Room was far too hot and the air con was totally inadequate. Ac unit said it would chill to 19c but the room never dropped below 23… and was hotter most of the time. We sweated all night. Air con was the deciding factor in choosing premier Inn as we like a colder room…. Never again . Not even a window to open to facilitate as an exhaust for the hot air

I arrived on Sunday evening following a 6 hour drive, so I was ready for a relaxing drink. Checked in around 9pm and went next door to the Brewers Fayre, the doors were locked. I appreciate that it would be too late for a meal but shutting the bar, really? The room was hot and stuffy and the air conditioning didn't work, this and the fact that the windows do open made for an uncomfortable night. I asked for scrambled eggs on toast for my breakfast to be advised you have to make your own toast, when I pointed out that the toast would be cold by the time the eggs arrived or vice versa it fell on deaf ears. The following night I was advised by a guest who had just checked in (not a member of staff) that the WiFi was down and the televisions were not working. Whilst the hotel is one of Premiers older buildings and a bit tired, there really isn't any excuse for things just not working

Needs updating compared to some premier inns. Couldn't open windows. Air con not working. Mould behind bath tap. Very basic breakfast poor quality.

Pro's: Very nice, friendly helpful staff, both in reception and the restaurant next door. Room very clean, comfortable beds. Breakfast weekdays, nice and calm and very good , fresh , quick service but weekends it is a buffet and very busy and noisy. Con's: Terrible noise from rooms above, not just mine but the same in other rooms occupied by our family. People walking above sounds like a herd of elephants, the ceiling lights rattle very loudly and feels like the person/s above are about to crash through the ceiling. Very annoying when you are trying to rest or sleep. Restaurant food in the evening is poor/average.

Great staff, welcoming and helpful. Lovely clean and warm room. My kids loved it too. Very peaceful night. Breakfast was great. Bargin free for kids. Could of done with more options for kids TV, but overall very happy.
