新門屋飯店(Newgate House)

We had a wonderful stay at Newgate House, Carole and her partner were so lovely and attentive and made us feel incredibly welcome. Our bedroom was stunning, spacious and extremely comfortable. Carole even brought up fresh milk for tea and coffee which was really nice. The bathroom was so beautiful and towels, toiletries and flannels were included which was a lovely touch. The breakfast was another fantastic part of our stay (maybe the best part!) plenty of choice and so delicious. The location could not have been better either, just a stones throw away from the town and plenty to do when you get there. We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend at Newgate House, 5 stars aren’t enough! We couldn’t fault anything and we can’t wait to return! Thank you for having us!

I could not recommend this place highly enough, rooms fantastic, breakfast lovely, hosts absolutely amazing they made us feel very much at home and also supplied us with local knowledge of places to eat and drink. Such good value for money.

Chose Newgate House for its location in Barnard Castle. Great location, great hosts who were on hand to assist with any queries. Room was equipped with everything we needed and was a good size and spotless Very tasty breakfast. Would certainly return if ever back in the area.

If I could give Newgate house more stars, I would. Absolutely amazing B&B, the rooms are so spacious, clean and have everything you could need. The host Carole is so accommodating and nothing is too much. The breakfast was beautiful, fresh and cooked to perfection. Our stay was perfect from start to finish and Carole’s welcoming personality was the perfect touch. We hope to stay again in future!

The BnB was immaculate and our room was lovely. It was neat, tidy and clean and we felt very welcome. Carole was an excellent host and catered to all our needs. The breakfast was great and my partner especially enjoyed the salmon and scrambled eggs on toast. The location of the BnB was perfect for us as we were attending a wedding nearby, plus it was only a 5 minute walk to the shops. I would definitely recommend this BnB for anyone looking to stay in the area.

Beautiful, spotlessly clean house with great sized rooms, Carole was a great host and the breakfast was brilliant and really sets you up for the day. right in the centre of town with free parking right outside. All in all a brilliant place to stay and highly recommended.

Carole, Trevor and Peter were very welcoming, couldn’t do enough for you. Our room was beautiful, lovely and clean with all amenities catered for. Breakfast was excellent and Peter was very attentive to our needs. Would highly recommend this property if you are ever in the area.
