The best hotel in Gulmarg in a breathtaking setting of himalayas mountain as a background. Everything is shouting luxury and sophistication. From the grand entrance of the lobby to the restaurants with a view and the rooms with fine crafted furniture. The staff are amazing including chef Aadil at Niku restaurant and his team. The spa and swimming pool area are amazing.

One of the best stay in our kashmir tour, hotel has a breathtaking view (which u can enjoy from almost everywhere in hotel), very good food and heated pool with sauna nd steam. Sohil from pool in khyber was very helpful. Service quality pf this hotel is exceptional.

The Khyber is the best hotel to stay in Gulmarg!! Breathtaking mountains covered in snow make for a very beautiful view from the property. The staff was amazing.. special mention to Aquib and Bilkees from Housekeeping who made sure we were made very comfortable as we were travelling with a toddler.. cleaned our room multiple times without any complaint! The food was too good and restaurant staff was very prompt in serving the customers. Hilal, Abhishek, Shakir, Aadil, Zahid ,Sajad, Raees All were very courteous & had a constant smile on their face while serving! Varun Singh was very sweet & made sure we were comfortable! Abhishek from F& B was very very helpful with our toddler demands & helped us with a lot of things! Big big thanks to all the lovely staff & chefs! Also the spa service is too good! Would surely recommend this hotel..

Unapologetic / Arrogant = Khyber Managers We recently stayed at Khyber. We had booked 2 nights at Khyber. But since same category of room wasnt available on MMT. We had to book 2 different room categories for 2 nights. Upon arrival we were told by the check in person (who's name I dont wish to add here) that you guys will be fine and you dont need to change the room tomorrow. We were either ways fine- as we had booked different room category and we didn't care much about it. Next day morning we went for Gondola level 1 and 2. Must add location of Khyber is great. So we left early at 9 am after our breakfast. After a long and hectic morning at gondola we returned back to our room to find that our room keys wouldn't work. So we had to walk back to reception to be told by another arrogant staff that they have changed our room. This was shocking and disappointing at same time not because room was changed but because for the first time in history of all travel we have done in indis and abroad, we had a hotel staff who had moved our open luggage to another room including some very important medicines without informing us. Had they had informed is a night in advance that they had made an error and indeed we did need to move room. We would have just kept our stuff packed & would have happily moved. The real issue was managers arrogance / unapologetic behaviour. He was not only arrogant but also pressurised his staff to lie about the fact that the person had indeed informed us that we will not need to change the room. Anyways- long story short. Great location, great property. Ofcourse exhobitant rates for same. But do not expect service/ hospitality of a 5 star standards of the likes of Vivanta Dal Lake or ITC at Pahalgam. This is a great hotel with below average managers running it. Sir, Umar Tramboo (@utramboo). Request you to look into this mismanagement and make Khyber service great again

The good things (1) Lovely property done with beautiful interiors - Kashmiri artwork and pictures. (2) Rooms have similar rich finish with lot of wood on floors and walls and carpets. (3) Central Heating (4) Good food (5) All staff are happy to serve you . (6) Availability of agents outside the porch of the hotel who help you with the gondola rides , local trips and snow activities. Please note the activities mentioned in the website of the hotel like ATV rides are actually outsourced through these agents. (7) The Himalayan view rooms offer a fantastic view of the mountains. (8) Proximity to the Gondola though I would advise visitors not to walk up the steep hill back to the hotel. The low oxygen levels and the cold could literally take the wind out of you. You can get a hotel cab to pick and drop you. The area for improvement: (1) I feel owing to lack of competition this property is a tad overpriced (2) Though the website mentions activities when we reach the hotel the staff wash their hands off citing it is outsourced. This is unlike Oberoi or Taj where their concierge takes responsibility to coordinate with the outsourced agents. Not a big issue but the customer trusts the Hotel and the Hotel taking no stake is uncomforting for the tourist (3) Breakfast starts at 8 AM . We had a early flight and wanted breakfast at 7:30 AM. The live counters where not ready at that time and you had only minimal menu. Most 5 star Hotels offers full breakfast earlier

Although the hotel and room service did not match our expectations… Hilal from the front office was exceptional in making our stay and check out process really easy. He communicates really well, always happy to serve and does it all with a positive attitude and a smile
