The room was nice. The Key card entry to our room was not working properly as it needed a new battery. We got to the property just before the restaurant was winding down. We dropped our stuff in our room and went to dinner. After a nice fish dinner we went back to go into our room and after multiple attempts with a fresh key each time, we could not get in. Staff was nice and tried to help, Front desk clerk was really new working there and called her manager (off site at this time 8:30 pm). Manager called the Maintenance guy who lived an hour away and he arrived at around 11:20 PM. At 10:15 the next shift front desk person arrived and knew where the individual master keys were and set out to remedy the situation and let us in our room. None of the keys are marked and so she needed to try each key to see which was for our room. Finally success. I want to say that they offered us a different room early on in the process, but all our stuff, medications, toiletries, CPAP, special pillow we travel all over the country with, etc. and so we did not want another room and not wait til morning to get our stuff back. Every member of the staff was very pleasant and kind, and we were pleasant and kind in return but the process took us about 3 hours until we were in our room. I have waited to write this review. I want to let you all know that when my husband called the General Manager on Monday when she was back in the building, she agreed that what we had been through, warranted giving us a refund for our inconvenience. We booked most of our stays on a 9 week long cross country tour of our beautiful country with a third party, but this night we had booked direct. If we had this experience with a third party, not sure we would have gotten this result. We would go back in a heartbeat! I highly recommend that they set up an annual replacement of all the batteries in the door key card lock system and having better training and marking of the pass keys. The morning front desk clerk told me she would have immediately known what the problem was and how to solve it and only was 10 minutes away. Thanks to all the staff who wanted to help but were ill prepared to help. Thanks to management for making it right for us! That all being said, It is nice and I wish we had been able to use the Pool, Hot Tub amenities or had a drink in the bar but by the time we were in our room for the night all were closed! If we are in the area, we would try again!
