Punta Mita easily became one of our favorite resorts. The main pool is in a great central location with views of both beaches. In the afternoon there was some shade in part of the pool which was great. There were always chairs available around the pool and staff to set you up with towels at a moment's notice. The main pool was quiet enough that we never even ventured to the adults only pool. Unfortunately the lazy river was closed for maintenance or renovation during our trip. The beaches were great as well. We were mostly at las manzanillas beach since our room was a few steps from the sand. Again, there were always chairs available there with the thatched umbrellas over for some shade. Very relaxing for us. The water was a great temperature at Labor Day to swim, although it's not quite as tranquil as the Caribbean (which was just fine with us). The workers constantly stop by to bring you insulated cups of water or take your order for something more. The beach was my wife's favorite spot to eat, especially their delightful chicken nachos. The restaurants were good as well. We probably liked Dos Catrinas the best with beautiful ocean views. The drinks were good but they had a somewhat limited bar so they couldn't make a few of the drinks that we preferred. We stayed in a beachfront room that we really enjoyed. The room was very comfortable with a small outside area to sit. The housekeeping service was top notch as well. The resort seemed fairly busy during our stay but never crowded. It is in a great location on a gated peninsula to feel very safe for my wife and no crowds from other resorts to contend with. We will definitely be back to Punta Mita many times in the future.

I had two stays at the Four Seasons Mexico City in December before and after exploring further afield in Mexico. Both stays were nice without being amazing. The food was good and there were lovely welcome amenities in the room. Breakfast was included and pleasant. One small gripe, they do charge you the breakfast service fee even if you don’t eat breakfast. The christmas tree and ice skating rink were nice festive touches. This is an older style hotel and the decor and rooms are not modern so if you are looking for contemporary the Ritz Carlton is a better option.
