Having stayed in many Premier Inns , I know what to expect. There are a lot of positives. Great location with ample free parking and within walking distance of the village.Quit location too . Hotel is clean , fantastic pressure hot shower, comfortable well maintained rooms . The public areas are very nice and the buffet breakfast are as you would expect , fresh hot and plentiful . The reasons we scored a 3 are down to manageable issues . Firstly the advertised self check in was out of order , great when no one is one reception. We pressed bell and waited a few minutes then the usual having repeat all your booking info , we were given key cards but had to ask for our room number . We went down for breakfast, again no staff . Back to the reception buzzer , again another wait . We fancied cocktails as advertised on posters and menus so asked for what we wanted at the bar to be told we don’t do cocktails. We went to our room to relax and could hear the room above constantly banging through the ceiling.by 10 pm we’d had enough and went to reception, guess what no one there so the good old buzzer again . After another wait I spoke with a member of staff who apologised and said they would have a chat with guests . It went quiet for a while and kicked off again at 23:15 , I did eventually get to sleep . 07:30 the banging started again . Went to reception, you can guess the next bit , no one there . When we were attended we complained again and asked for guests above to be moved , again apologies and assured guests would be spoken too . Had to wait again at breakfast to be seated . We asked reception to have our room cleaned ( completely understand and agree rooms don’t need to be serviced daily ) as this was our second night and we needed clean cups etc .we hung out our sign as stated and returned late afternoon to no serviced room . A real shame poor management has caused these issues , your letting the brand down
