阿瑟斯敦紅獅飯店(The Atherstone Red Lion Hotel)

supposed to be able to check in 2pm was told on arrival it`s 4pm supposed to check out by 11am was told it`s 10am Wi-Fi kept going off so was useless and unable to use tv as aerial cable had connector removed

This was my second awful stay at this hotel so I'll be going elsewhere now. I've stayed happily at this hotel many times but unfortunately on last 2 occasions I've been shunted into the annexe hotel down the road. In this stay, my room (312) had 2 windows and neither had a curtain (just a net curtain!), the carpet showed no sign of being cleaned in recent months, the toilet had a machine attached that make an absolute racket when flushed (or just randomly in middle of night), no replenishment of toiletries, I wasn't provided with a key to outside door by night porter so had to ask him to escort me down road and use his master key, and walls were so thin I could hear every word of conversations in neighbouring room (even when reception came to check occupant was OK as he hadn't been seen all day!). My previous stay was in room 327, directions only go up to 326!, the TV was broken and couldn't be fixed, curtains were very thin and let in light, carpet was dirty and some hideous stains on side of bed, no replenishment of toiletries (after a 10 minute wait at reception, I was supplied with 2x shampoo after asking for shower gel) Car parking has always been an issue but I managed to get a space one of the nights this time - it seems as though people are voting with their feet. The pub and food is great, I'm reluctant to stay elsewhere but I won't risk being sent to the completely unsatisfactory annexe again.

4 night stay working away. Ok hotel well placed. Hi speed wifi is non existent so that should be amended in the description. But welcoming and friendly. Food is good. Like the historical aspect.

This is my second stay in about 6 weeks. It's a great central location in the town and filled with history. I grew up in Atherstone, so it's a convenient and fairly priced hotel near my family. Staff are friendly and hospitable, bar atmosphere is great and food is terrific. (It may also have the hottest (temperature) meals you'll ever be served!). The rooms could do with some updating, but they are not out of character with the hotel. Shower was a little weak. TV was pretty small, but these are minor things. Overall I enjoyed my stay and will very likely stay again. Atherstone is a lovely historic town if you're looking for somewhere to stay in Central England.

WI-FI virtually non existent but that’s not the hotel it’s the town as a whole.

The room was pleasant, the location historic and central to the town. My whole family ate there and enjoyed the food very much. I had the best toffee pudding dessert ever! Staff was helpful and friendly.

Hotel well located in Atherstone. Good facilities and bar and lounges. Twin room small but in excellent condition with good bathroom/shower.Parking to rear of hotel. Historic theme and decor. Excellent breakfast

The property was just for work, but it was quiet, comfy, good location.

Lovely hotel for our 1 night stay. Welcome by staff was nice. Room was large with ensuite aswell. Carpark was small but found a place right next to our room. Meal area had a nice setting. Both meals were nice and reasonably priced. Table service was good. Only downside the room was very hot at night and made for an uncomfortable nights sleep. Beds were a little uncomfortable as in places could feel the springs. New softer mattresses required i think. Would visit again - Yes. If we are in the area again for a cycle race we would book again.
