召會飯店

This hotel represents good value for money in Athens. I selected a room with a delightful balcony and interesting street views - there is also tiny park opposite. The desk was fine to complete several hours of work. The air-conditioned worked extremely well. I also appreciated the mini fridge in the room, which many hotels with Athens don't have. However, the bathroom was little tiny. In addition the TV is very small - I alway take my personal computer, so not an issue for me. Its about 10 min walk to Omonia Metro station, which offers a direct line to the port area. There is an excellent supermarket about 10 min walk from the hotel. This area feels more like the real Athens, rather than hotels in tourist zones. This zone has wonderful multicultural feel. In the same street of this hotel, there are excellent hairdressers for $5 Euro a cut and fantastic stores to buy discount clothes and bags. I would certainly recommended this hotel for travellers that appreciate value for money and great amenities like balcony and fridge.

I stayed on the 6th floor. The room was so small and dirty. Beds were uncomfortable and bed sheets were very dirty, the same with pillows. The worst part was the toilet, less than 1m² , you have to do some yoga moves in order to get in and close the door. Taking a shower was a nightmare, you can't move your hands freely while showering, everywhere was so dirty. Cleaning ladies used to do a lot of noise on that floor every morning and didn't let to sleep well. Overall 0/5 for everything.

Inside the hotel itself is adequate, the room was clean and featured all expected amenities including hot water. The area in which the hotel is situated, however, is far from salubrious and I was not expecting the amount of homelessness, litter and seediness which I experienced. This was particularly challenging to navigate a night. For a location which is 20-30 min walk from the centre, this meant that navigating through this area multiple times a day was unavoidable and had I known more about the area I was staying in then I would not have booked this hotel.

El hotel está en un barrio muy inseguro y que da miedo por la noche (y por el día también). Pero lo peor es que al llegar, nos dieron la habitación 305, y nada más abrir la puerta vimos muchas cucarachas pequeñas corriendo por toda la habitación! Se lo dijimos al recepcionista (que al menos era amable y nos buscó solución), y nos dieron una habitación en otro hotel a 15 minutos caminando. Tuvimos que caminar este trayecto solas a la 1 de la mañana en un ambiente muy hostil, con gente muy extraña por la calle. Al llegar al otro hotel (Socrates Hotel) la impresión no fue mucho mejor, y además nos dieron la peor habitación que tenían disponible: un zulo sin ventanas al exterior. La peor experiencia del viaje a Atenas sin duda. Recomiendo pagar un poco más y buscar otro alojamiento en otro barrio, porque un lugar como este te puede estropear tus vacaciones!
