Lovely B&B. Very comfortable. Karen & Steve are friendly & helpful. The location is excellent. We enjoyed our stay. Asheville is worth your visit & the Lion & Ross is a great place to stay. The river arts area & the Biltmore are very close to the B&B. Downtown Asheville is a mile away.

My fiancee and I checked into The Lion and The Rose for a one-night stay to celebrate our 5th anniversary. I expected some luxury, having booked the top-floor suite (the Craigs Tom, for those looking at staying here), but we were both blown away by what this B&B had to offer. The view from our balcony was lovely, our bed was soft and the breakfast delivered to our door the next morning was delicious. Not only that, this B&B's great location meant we could we could walk around the lovely Montford neighborhood while also being within driving distance of Asheville's best restaurants and attractions.

My wife and I stayed recently for two nights for our anniversary. The breakfasts were outstanding, and the hosts were very gracious and friendly. Very close to downtown, restaurants and entertainment. I highly recommend staying at the Lion and Rose!

Steve and Karen were incredibly kind + thoughtful and took such good care of me as a solo traveler! Room was clean and beautifully decorated. Breakfast was delicious and the porch was the perfect place to sit, relax, and plan out my Asheville stay. Awesome location, just 5 minutes from downtown Asheville.

From the moment we arrived Karen and Steven went out of their way to be hospitable! We sampled Steve’s beer, talked about the area and great breweries and restaurants, they even had delicious brownies waiting for us in our room. The room was beautiful, lovely decor and extremely clean. We were tucked into a nice quiet area of the house and felt as if we were the only ones there until the morning when we had the opportunity to meet other guests at breakfast. Breakfast was outstanding! We are absolutely going to stay here whenever we are in the area!

Just like staying at home with family. We completed our 4th stay at The Lion and the Rose Bed & Breakfast this morning. As always, it was very delightful. The B&B is lovely and well appointed, yet comfortable. Karen and Steve are very kind and gracious hosts. Always focused on their guests comfort and needs. Our room, The Fannie Rice Room, was spacious and the bed was perfect. The home-made cookies were yummy and the gourmet breakfast delicious! Also, their evening restaurant recommendations were superb. It was a memorable two day stay for us again, and we look forward to booking our next stay very soon! Thank you Karen and Steve!

We took the moms to Asheville to see the sights and needed a place to stay for 5 of us. Thought we'd try a B&B instead of a traditional hotel room and that turned out to be a good choice. The Lion and the Rose was wonderful!! We loved the house and the rooms. Everything was very nicely decorated. Three of us were in the Craig-Toms Suite on the top floor and it was very spacious. The other two were in the Margaret Grace room on the second floor and that room was also nice. The breakfast was delicious - we really enjoyed it both days. The location was very convenient to downtown Asheville and the Biltmore. And the owners were so nice and accommodating - they were a pleasure to talk to. We also enjoyed the welcome home-brewed beer upon check in and the beermosa at breakfast (in keeping with the Asheville brewing theme)! Overall, we had a great stay here and are looking forward to visiting again soon!

What an awesome experience! Everything from the coffee waiting at my door every morning to the beauty and comfort of this early 1900’s house. Our hosts made our experience there a once in a lifetime happening!

Karen and Steve are amazing hosts!! Felt like home and coffee left at our front door every morning was really pretty awesome. Home cooked goodies left at our door in the afternoon was great! Nice quiet room, close to everything!! Highly recommend staying here, you will not be disappointed!!
