Arne's Place

Arnes Place liegt 10m vom Strand entfernt in einer kleinen Nebengasse von der Hauptstraße abgehend. Wir haben 5 Tage zu viert in der Villa 2 geschlafen. Die Zimmer sind schlicht, sauber und das Bad ist sehr großzügig. Neben der Terrasse vor den jeweiligen kleinen Cottages bietet der Garten viele Sitz- und Chillmöglichkeiten. Was den Aufenthalt hier so besonders macht sind die Gastgeber. Muba, seine Familie und alle Angestellten, sind so unglaublich freundlich und hilfsbereit, dass wir uns sehr wohl und willkommen gefühlt haben. Besonders waren auch die Surfstunden, die Mahir uns gegeben hat. Auch den kleinen Ausflug am Abend zum Elephantrock mit dem TukTuk haben wir sehr genossen. Das Motto come as a stranger leave as a friend ist genau das, was Arnes Place so besonders macht.

« Come as a stranger, leave as friend » the motto of Arne’s place and what a reality … We went on a Sri Lankan road trip with some cousins (we were 5) and were supposed to stay in Abay for 2 days. We were so good there that we extended for three additional days 😎 4 local brothers bring this place to life with perfect complementarity, everyone more kind and welcoming than the other. They will be able to offer you multiple services with an eye for detail always present : room, food, laundry, surf, safari, laugh … 🙂 and maybe more to come 🤙🏻☕️ The place with this direct view on the beach and the ocean is really incredible, you could stay admiring for hours 🤩 Only one feeling at the end : why do we have to leave such a place and such peoples ? Located next to the beach in stunning Potuvil Arne's Place is the perfect place to live while visiting the Arugam Bay area. I was lucky enough to stay at Arne's Place twice, and both times were very special. The rooms are clean, comfortable and spacious. Bathrooms with open roof, so showering after sleep is always a treat in the morning. The management and staff can cater for your every need. There are a number of restaurants, coffee shops and juice bars within a few minutes' walk. A peaceful, tranquil retreat where the sound of the waves will nurse you to sleep in a jiffy, Arne's Place is somewhere I would be happy to go back to every year.

We were three girls from Denmark who originally booked two nights but just had to stay two more, because it was so lovely. The owners of the hostel were incredibly sweet and very helpful. We totally recommend Arnie’s place to all who wants to have a nice and fun stay in Arugam. Also very delicious food they serve :)

Very nice stay at Arne’s place! We rented a villa for 4 people (2 king beds, 1 simple bed and a big bathroom). Close to the water and the main road and shops of Arugam. Hassan and Haleem were very helpful and made our stay very comfortable. You need to book a safari with them, Hassan took care of everything it was an unforgettable day: we got to see leopards and elephants in Kumana National Park!!

Arne’s Place has a relaxed atmosphere, perfect location (just behind the beach front/short walk to main town) and is run by a really helpful and kind family! We will definitely be visiting again in the future :))

Arnes Place is the most welcoming and of course friendliest accommodation you will find along the coast of Arugambay. The location of Arnes Place is perfect! you are right at the beginning of the main road which has a lot of cute cafés and nice shops to offer. You are also right at the beach and are able to either enjoy a quite beach or the little bit busier part of the beach (5min walk each). The Rooms at Arnes Place are perfectly clean and very nice. Mubarak and his brothers are very welcoming people and will help you if you need anything! They got all the local Knowledge one wants to know and each one of the brother’s you will get to know has its specialties which you will love :) This accommodation is also perfect for everyone going to abay because of surfing.

Super vriendelijke eigenaren, ligging van hotel is echt super! Schone kamers voorzien van ventilator, eigen badkamer plus 2 handdoeken. Super chille tuin om in te relaxen. Ontbijt en lunch kan ter plekke geregeld worden keuze is prima! Mogelijkheid tot verlengen van verblijf is zeker mogelijk, al met al een heel fijn verblijf gehad!

+Sehr freundliches und hilfsbereites Personal +Zimmer/Bungalow spartanisch aber sauber und OK. Ohne Nachfrage wird aber nicht geputzt. +Organisation von Touren und Taxi +Frühstück OK -Einige unansehnliche Ecken auf dem Gelände -Anwesen ist nicht direkt am Stand, sondern dazwischen liegt noch ein verwildertes Grundstück. Anders als es manche Bilder vermuten lassen. Blick auf die Karte hilft. -5m tiefer Brunnen ohne Abdeckung auf dem Gelände (Kinder!)
