Nous avons passé un incroyable séjour de 3 nuits dans un bungalow en pleine nature dans le centre d’Arugam Bay. Idéalement situé juste en face de la plage. Notre bungalow était propre, une literie confortable. Équipé d’une climatisation ( que vous pouvez laisser fonctionner la nuit sans problème ). Le linge de lit est propre. L’équipe passe tout les matins nettoyer la chambre et changer les serviettes de toilettes. La salle de bain est à ciel ouvert protégée par une grille, accessible directement depuis la chambre. Eau chaude à volonté + savon, gel douche, shampooing. L’hôtel dispose d’une piscine entourée de végétation luxuriante avec des transats, les serviettes de bains sont fournies. Des cours de yoga sont proposés. Le restaurant est excellent pour des prix raisonnables. Les plats sont raffinés et diversifiés, les produits sont frais. Tradition sri lankaise mélangée à de la cuisine occidentale. Le petit déjeuner est servi de 07h30 à 14h30 ce qui nous a permis de faire nos séances de surf jusqu’à 9h et de pendre un petit dej à 10h. Le cadre du restaurant est splendide, vous avez la possibilité de vous restaurer à table ou assis sur des matelas ( très confortables ), pour les plus romantiques une cabane perchée dans un arbre. De la très bonne musique est diffusée, nous avons eu la change d’avoir un petit concert. Dans la rue principale vous pouvez dîner ou prendre un verre en bord de plage.Vous pouvez également prendre un tuk tuk ( la gérante peut vous en commander un ), pour aller surfer à peanut farm ou vous faire bronzer a whisky Point. Il y a de nombreuses plages paradisiaques à 20 mn en tuk tuk. Le personnel est discret, poli, souriant. La boutique de l’hôtel est géniale. Je recommande fortement cet établissement.

Wir haben 5 Nächte im Hideaway übernachtet. Zwei davon gab es in der direkten Nachbarschaft eine sehr laute Party. Bei einer Party war der Bass so stark, dass alles im Zimmer vibriert hat. Das heisst leider haben meine Ohrstöpsel und Noisecancling nicht geholfen. Mir ist bewusst, dass das Hideaway darauf keinen Einfluss hat. Trotzdem finde ich es für Personen, die nach Entspannung und gutem Schlaf suchen, wichtig dies zu wissen, da der Preis für die Räume nicht gerade billig ist. Die Zimmer sind hübsch eingerichtet. Toll ist, dass man immer gefiltertetes Wasser erhält. Das Frühstück ist sehr schön angerichtet und lecker. Der Kaffee ist top. Die Portion beim "Frühstücksspecial" könnte noch etwas grösser sein. Für fast 200 Dollar pro Übernachtung, bin ich der Meinung, dass man beim Frühstück sowohl einen Fruchtsaft als auch einen Kaffee erhalten sollte. Der Ausflug mit dem Jeep in den Nationalpark war eine wunderbare Erfahrung. Der Guide wusste viel Spannendes zu berichtet. Die Kommunikation hat sehr gut funktioniert.

This is truly an amazing place! It’s like a quiet oasis - 50 meters from the main road everything is quiet, relaxed and almost a separate world. At the same time it’s close to the beach, shops, cafés and all the attractions of Arugam Bay. Both the bungalows and the rooms are very nice, with A/C and en suite bathrooms. Food is excellent with generous servings, and in the evenings there is live music in the bar/café. The pool is nice and shaded by trees, and there are several yoga classes and massage sessions every day. Sharon and her excellent team run the place with a combination of a welcoming atmosphere and quiet efficiency. (It’s been in her family for many years, and many of the staff have been there for decades.) It’s a bit more pricey than many other places in Arugam Bay, but well worth it! I can’t see any reason to stay anywhere else in Arugam Bay (some of us were returning for the seventh or eighth time!)

We arrived at the hotel after searching for a place to stay, it is a hotel that really feels like an escape from the noise of Arugam, in the evenings you can hear noise from the businesses outside. The rooms are clean and spacious in a tropical area, so friends can enter the room, but the staff immediately takes care of it. The pool is maintained and we completely had a quiet and pleasant corner. But what made the experience so great was the welcome of Rashika who took care of our every request during the stay and all the other staff, always smiling and helping. I have never come across such a team. And don't give up on the Chaturi massage! Magic hands!

My second time here and it was even better. Exceptional accommodation, great food and fantastic entertainment. Sharon and her staff deserve all the plaudits for the exceptional manner in which they run this place. The staff organised a tuk-tuk for us for a day at the beach and gave us great tips of other good local restaurants and attractions to try. Hideaway used to be a seasonal go to but I’ve been here off season and it’s just as good. My wife and I loved our time there. Thanks folks, we’ll be back!
