We're 3 keen birdwatchers who chose to stay at this hotel on the strength of information that the lakes around the hotel are good for birdlife. However, we were disappointed by the lack of birds, which is likely due to the area having become more built-up due to the past and current construction work in the surrounding area. (not a fault of the hotel) The hotel itself is in a lovely setting with 2 big lakes you can walk round, which make for a good view from rooms overlooking them. The hotel mainly caters for large groups of students who are on educational trips. They can be noisy playing in and around the pool but are well behaved and generally just having a good time. It wasn't a problem for us, but it could be if a family wanted their children to play in the pool. The rooms were fine and had a fridge, fan and AC and were regularly cleaned. We would have liked to have a safe in the room, or a lockable drawer but there wasn't. There are safe facilities in reception though. Breakfast was buffet style Indian food plus eggs, although there was often a lengthy queue due to the student groups, but they were friendly and weren't rowdy.

We had a great stay at the resort, rooms were well maintained and the view in front was great as well. We had great food as well at the restaurant. Platini was great and super helpful and suggested some good items to try and helped make our trip memorable. Would definitely consider visiting this property once again!

Had an amazing time! The mesmerizing views made my stay special. Kudos to Platini for the delicious food and Selvin for being super helpful. Minor tweaks to housekeeping and room service would elevate the experience. Can't wait to come back!

Overall one of the best and biggest property in north goa with close to nature feel, Whole Staff of Resort is humble and obedient, Mr Platini manager of restaurant is very humble and helpful and doing his job perfectly with very good service Mr Selvin and Karen at reception are very helpful and humble. Just need to improve vegetarian food and variety of vegetarian food.

Overall stay was great everyone was good.. special thanks for platini for the service he provided great hospitality…will see you soon…

what can Isay,wow wow wow . If you want a relaxing ,peacful holiday,and yet within easy reach of bars and resterants, this is the place for yoy.Have been visiting this hotel for many years, and will continue to do so.Staff and management cannot do enough for you making our stay memorable. Have booked for next year,cant wait .

We were booked into the Marinha Dourada for 5 nights by a nature tour company in the UK. Although we had prepaid for 5 nights, we only stayed 1. Instead we stayed at the boutique hotel Park River Baga just down the road which offered security, sound proofing, reliable air conditioning, good food, and friendly staff. We were not comfortable with security at Marinha Dourada ~ property was open to all comers, lighting was inadequate as you had to walk a fair distance outside and our room opened to the outside, lock was just a key, and it was impossible to tell who was a bonafide security guard. The hotel is way past its heyday and I would describe it more as a hostel, full of young people who seemed to be having a good time. So the hotel owners should rebrand it as such and drop the pretence of being a resort. Why the highly awarded UK company booked us in the Marinha Dourada is a mystery to me.

Wow, absolutely wow. I have frequently stayed here over the last 5 years and this hotel is just the right idea for a quiet and very exclusively quaint stay. Right from Kishore at the front desk, always a pleasure to chat with him, to the staff, friendly and very prompt, to the vast and beautiful location that this hotel has built itself around, truly a great stay if you looking for something quiet and beautiful. Baga beach is 5 mins down the road by car but trust me hanging around here is more that enough for me. The rooms are decent sized, no wi-fi though so have to make due, but the balconies all open up into a lovely view of the lake/ pond that sits in the property. You should try early mornings and evenings here just truly wow. Good food, a lovely short walk to the breakfast hall every morning with the pond by your side, really pretty. But the breakfast buffet could have more non veg variety (small hiccup) but the location, staff and the all-round relaxation you get from this place is absolutely unmatched. Book here and stay in a piece of Goa that you will never forget!

The stay was excellent right from the check in to the checkout. The room and room service was at par. The only disappointment was the breakfast provided, it could have been better taste wise and options wise. The swimming pool was very clean and chlorine free.

The view of those salt lakes is what makes all of the stay at the resorte worth. The bar is good and the ambience around the resort. The front desk is very helpful, so is the restaurant to accommodate any additional requests. The rooms are not even worth 3 star hotel. It's more like a lodge. 27 yr old hotel as of the date of review. Very unhygienic and dingy rooms. Old school type of beds and wardrobes. The old fridge would rattle every time it switches on, and the extra beds are hard as lying on floor. Just can't stay in the rooms on higher floors due to the stench Make sure you get the ground floor ones as a preference.
