聖拉羅湯加海灘飯店（限成人）(Sanctuary Rarotonga on the Beach (Adults Only))

Great service, easy place to switch off and relax in. Nice food.

Nous avons changé d’hôtel pour le sanctuary, car nous étions très déçus de son voisin. Rarotongan C’est nettement mieux. Les chambres sont beaucoup mieux. La vue sur la plage est superbe. En revanche, le service laisse toujours à désirer comme partout dans les îles, nous avons attendu près de deux heures avant d’avoir notre chambre à 17h ! Et sans explication, sinon nous serions allés en ville. Nous n’avons pas essayé le restaurant car ça nous a fait peur d’apprendre que la cuisine etait en commun avec le voisin.

Positives ..... view from the beach front suites Negatives upon arrival at a pre notified time after a very long flight our room was not to be ready for many hours, ok we caught the local bus into the centre and did food shopping. Upon return we were advised that our room was in fact double booked? I complained that we had booked the room many months before , we had to check into a different room for one night being told that "just dont unpack everything" this happens to lots of people??????? Finally the next day we were in our correct room after being told that would have to stay in the "resort" to relocate our things so that the old room would be ready for new occupents. Seriously? eventually the staff moved our things into the next room. It was the noisiest room possible located next to the pool,bar,restaurant and under 16 area??? Eventually after complaining we were moved to a much better located room. There is NO policing of children wandering to the under 16 zone( for which we paid a premium, (love kids bur not on this holiday) One night a wedding had been held during the day and at 3am guests decided to have a very loud pool party surely waking up everyone!!! The security guard must surely be deaf. Other nights we had a very loud crude person in the next room smoking swearing playing loud music non stop with the smoke filling our room. All in all this is a very OVERPRICED and badly run resort. I will NEVER stay there again !!!

This hotel is tired, old and in need of an upgrade. The service is poor... i waited 3 hours for food one day and 1 hour for fresh towels. There are so many other beautiful hotrls on the island that you would think the raratongan woould step up... it doesnt. Friends of mine arrived to a dirty room that they then had to wait another r hours before checking in. Ultimately, id never stay here again.

Siamo stati bene qui,anche se la cucina del ristorante non è eccelsa l’insieme tra qualità,pulizia e servizio è promossa. La colazione è basica ma sufficiente,il cocktail bar meglio del ristorante e la location rimane comunque favolosa. Rapporto qualità prezzo più che positivo.

What an awesome place. Definately coming back soon. Resort was beautiful and the staff were very friendly, professional and helful. I want to mention three staff members that stood out, Navi, Jerry and Lilly. There was another female staff member from Fiji. The entertainment was nice as well as the food. The front desk staff were also very helpful.

The Sanctuary is an amazing spot to have a childfree relaxing break. The staff are excellent and are so open and welcoming. We had Aisake, Elisapeci, Meli and Akuila who looked after us and catered to our every cocktail whim. The beds are HUGE and really comfy and the location is exceptional. It's literally directly on the beach and you have free access to kayaks, SUPs and snorkel gear. If you're more pool inclined it has a great (and very private) pool with a swim up bar. This is the 4th time we've stayed here and we cannot fault it.

Stayed at the sanctuary 7 nights. One thing the hotel did for us, which was very appreciated was to check us in at 8am after an overnight flight from Sydney. Top marks for that. However, the hotel is extremely overpriced for what it offers. The breakfast buffet, included in our rate and valued at $24 per pax, does not include eggs. And the variety was so mediocre that by the second day started ordering, and paying extra for, eggs. The highlights when it came to service were Sake and Laite. Both extremely friendly and personable. The rest of the service while friendly it suffers from the “island time” attitude to excuse itself for lack of efficiency. Again, The Rarotongan very average in this category. The hotel itself is nice. We had a beach front second floor room and it was specious enough and nice. The only bit that was not satisfactory was having to ask housekeeping to replenish the tea station all the time. After being in Aitutaki for the whole day had to call reception at 9pm to ask for a missing mug, tea and milk to be told to go to the restaurant to get the items myself and that milk was only provided once upon arrival. To that I answered that I should not be the one chasing for the items that are supposed to be in my room and that I could not understand why I had to pay for milk for a tea station they provided, for a seven night stay and for the price we were paying for the room. This episode was what prompted me to write this review. The other two things people should consider when staying here is that at this time of the year in Aroa beach is super windy and because it is not hot it actually becomes almost impossible to enjoy the beach because is too cold! However the snorkelling is AMAZING. The other thing is the internet. It’s outrageously expensive. You pay $20 for 10 days for 5GB (cannot use it on the general public side of the resort) and it’s only for one device. For some reason the data usage here in the Cooks seems to disappear quite quickly (same with Vodafone) which makes it really expensive. Overall was a slightly above average experience, would not consider coming back for the price paid.

We LOVED staying at the Sanctuary Rarotonga. We had a beachside room, however it felt like a beachfront room. Stepping straight out to the private beach where you can snorkel, kayak or just relax. The views are just amazing. The swim up bar was excellent and we enjoyed the cocktails and the bar staff were excellent. The staff helped us find our room and then let us in the room when our keys didn’t work and ran back to fix our keys so we didn’t have too. We loved getting the newsletter and reading about the fun facts, although would be great if they had a fortnight worth of fun facts as they are the same each week. The day spa was excellent, food was delicious and it’s nice to use all the Rarotonga resort stuff too. We used the bus all holidays which was also easy and excellent, fantastic that it stops at the resort.
