Visited on a Saturday evening and despite the car park being busy, it was pretty quiet. Food was tasty but the portion size was TINY! A small piece of cod served with only about 3 sliced small new potatoes and a spoon of spinach is not a sufficient meal for an adult. Definitely needed a dessert (in fact could probably have eaten two) and still we went home and raided the fridge for snacks. Definitely not a cheap place to eat so overall felt pretty disappointed.

We visited on chance as a young family. We had been nearby and called in for a drink. There was plentiful and easy parking. The staff were helpful and welcoming. We tried different real ale that was on tap. There were several local ales, all of which were well kept and nice. Prices were reasonable. We sat in a lovely small room with sofas. The pub has real character and is clean and neatly kept. A really good find that is a must if you are visiting the area. Our children even enjoyed the swings outside as a kids play area.

We visited the CB Inn three times last week - twice whilst we were working in Arkengarthdale, and once for a pre-concert supper when attending a Swaledale Festival event at Grinton. On all three occasions we were well catered for. Food quality and price was always good, portion sizes were perfect, and bar and food service was excellent - on two occasions we booked for meals at the very last minute. Our Black Labrador was on all occasions made very welcome by all staff on duty, as were we..... We will be back next week for more!

Very comfortable, well decorated room. So peaceful, apart from the wind outside. Good views to watch the weather rolling by and feel cosy in our room. Good clean room. Nice touch having fresh milk available in the small fridges. Friendly staff

Went for lunch, very accommodating for a walk in, friendly staff lovely looking pub! We came last year and were very impressed with the pub and had fish and chips. I remembered enjoying them so ordered the same meal this time. The portion was half the size that is was last year and was sat on about 8 chips. £16.95 felt a bit steep for the light bite size portion. Also was a bit disappointed in baby changing facilities, I understand the toilets are small however, a dusty mat stored on top of the heater, to be put onto a wet countertop, next to the sink and under the paper towel rack, as soon as you go into the toilet was not ideal. If someone else was using the toilets whilst I wanted to change my child, we wouldn’t have had privacy and I doubt anyone wants a poo nappy changing where you clean and dry your hands.
