We arrived on Sunday 20th October after a couple of TUI delays but from the moment we picked up our transfer, to arriving at La Romana Family and now very sadly leaving, my family and I have had the best time. Any issues? Well nothing serious. The toilets by the kids activity area are perhaps a little tired but they're always clean. If you like to serve yourself food at Breakfast instead of portions being served to you, this might be a little strange. But on the flip side, when you can eat from such a wide variety of food everyday, I think you're probably being just a little bit too picky. I mean, smoked fish for breakfast including tuna, mai mai and salmon - yes please! Fresh fruit is amazing. The pineapple 🍍 just blows you away. Our kids, one meat eater, one vegetarian have never complained about breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, drinks or ice cream. We too have enjoyed the Grill restaurant (great rib eye steak), the Herman's coffee and cake bar or the 1 for the Road Bar in the lobby. Great at night time when playing those challenging family games of Uno and Monopoly Deal! The waterpark and lazy river are brilliant and newly built so very clean too. Just make sure your kids are 120cm min to go on. We did two day trips through TUI. Both highly recommended and Martina our hotel rep was brilliant. She lives locally so knows everything you need to know and more besides. Dolphins 🐬 simply brilliant and Soana island was stunning. Never seen anything like it. As for the staff. All brilliant. No real pressure to buy anything and everyone is always keen to talk or take an order. Benny at dinner the other night was just lovely with us. Really can't fault anyone. Take some USD notes though. For us Brits, you need to tip! Night time entertainment brilliant and lots of variety too. Steel drums, magic shows, circus shows, silent disco. All fantastic. Have a couple of Pina Coladas and just let yourself go. Weather. Well that's nothing the hotel can help you with, but needless to say, when it rains, it's epic. The thunderstorms are hilarious as they arrive without notice and then soon after, its like they never came. But it's been so hot, everywhere has been bone dry in minutes. Seriously. Book this one. Punta Cana might be the obvious choice, but for couples, adults or families, especially those looking for gorgeous clear and calm, emerald green sea (with no seweed), I think you'd be hard pushed to beat this one for the money! Enjoy.
